Best AIO Landscape

I've tried most landscape combinations and found some great ones but they all introduced seams (which you can never unsee) so I switched to Cathedral Landscapes and it works really well... except for the snow. I really like Glacies Snow but can't use it with Cathedral because I can't get the LODs to match with them both (blue distant snow even with several ini tweaks) so... I'm stuck with Cathedral Snow as it's a part of Cathedral Landscapes. I was actually thinking of trying out a parallax landscape mod but Skurkbro has removed that feature and there seem to be some issues with the Skyrim 202X landscapes.

So... what mod(s) do you use for a seamless landscape? Or is there a way to ditch the Cathedral Snow from Cathedral Landscapes so I can get back to using Glacies?

I actually checked out Skyland Landscapes... I'm already using Noble and Skyrim 202X. Liked the look of Skyland but it also looks like it doesn't quite cover everything. It's true... seams are inevitable (even Cathedral has a few) but it's where they are that makes the difference I find. What grass are you using for Skyland?

  • 2 weeks later...

Just did a build with Skyland AIO as a base and Tamrielic Landscapes and grass overlaying - it's looking good so far.. Previously I used Slyrim Realistic Overhaul as a base with Noble and Cathedral Landscapes overlaying. You should be able to mix snow though. Are you getting mismatched textures?

I'm really happy using Skyland AIO for all of my textures including landscapes and then separate mods for trees, grass, and plants on top of it. I've been really liking the combo of skyland for landscapes (includes blended roads), folkvangr for the grass, enhanced vanilla trees (bigger and more lush) and skyrim 3d trees and plants to cover everything else not covered by the other mods.

Skyland has the best textures in my opinion all around. Even if you don't add tree and grass mods skyland will at least give the vanilla trees, plants, and grass better textures.

I actually used SRO for a base a few times and it worked really well. I'm currently using Noble Skyrim/Skyrim 202X as a base.with Cathedral Landscapes. Cathedral Landscapes is good for seamless but the grass is pretty uninspiring... using Northern Cathedral Regional Grass helps but I'm still looking for a little more 'wow' (Folkvangr has spoiled me a little). I've been able to mix snow textures before but it doesn't work so well with Cathedral. Something about mipmaps that causes LOD textures to turn blue.

I'm actually really happy with the way most of the gae looks... I've been looking at Tamrielic Landscapes as a possible replacement... love the way Tamrielic Grass looks... but hate how it grows in the roads. If you know of a way to mitigate that... I would totally give it a shot.

I was looking at Skyland Landscapes... does it work well with Blended Roads? I'm currently using Really Blended Roads 8K with Cathedral Landscapes and it meshes really well (I know Cathedral has Blended Roads included but I wanted the 8K textures). Folkvangr is the best grass IMO but the landscape seams I just can't deal with and my attempts to remove the worldspace edits just didn't work out. I'm using a few tree mods... my main ones being Happy Little Trees for the pines and Myrkvior for most everything else with Skyrim 3D Landscapes for bushes and shrubs... also Bent Pines for a bit of flavour.

Skyland is okay... but Noble/202X has got me hooked. It's really only the landscapes I'm not super crazy about which is why I decided on Cathedral. I also liked Vivid but any time it's not an AIO, there are more seams so... it's looking like a toss up between Skyland and Tamrielic for that right now... unless Folkvanger gets an update.

Im guessing your snow projecteddiffuse may be causing the lod mismatch. Check the projectedDiffuse Patch Hub.

Blended Roads will help with grass loss in roads but also check NoGrassias Extended or Ultimate.

I think I was using a patch from ProjectedDiffuse Patch hub when I was trying to overwrite Cathedral with Glacies Snow and wasn't able to make it work. When I drop Cathedral Landscapes, Cathedral Snow will go as well... the one thing I like about it is that there's very little tiling but Glacies is good for that two and I just think it looks better.

I did try the other two No Grassias versions and still had some grass in odd places but... I did a little digging this afternoon and found this (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/71562) so maybe I can go back to the Tamrielic Landscapes and Grass.
