Puzzle box

I'm off to the Dwemer ruins (cant remember the name) to get the puzzle box and I keep getting killed by the conjuror on the Dwemer bridge. My character is a level 4 dark elf. Am I ready for this quest yet or do I need to level up more first? Any advice on dealing with the conjuror would be appreciated. Thaanks!

if your a archer or mage, forget about the skeleton he summons and shoot the summoner directly

 

when i was a mage i summoned a skeleton which distracted his skeleton, then i started firing fireballs at him, kicked his shirtless but all over the place. if a warrior i suggest running around the skelton and fighting the summoner. As soon as the summoner is dead the skelton disapeers.

Do the Vassir-Didanat mine quest to get a Daedric weapon, obtainable at level one if you wish. This will add to your ability. Level 4 should be okay.

If you're a shortblade person, there's a Daedric dagger in the Redoran waterworks in Vivec. Bring a silver weapon or some nice spell to kill the ghost near it.

You're probably past this by now but i'll put in my 2 cents worth, the first time i played morrowind was at friends house on Xbox, she already had the puzzle box but ran past that guy to get in, and kept getting killed trying to get back out. We were playing some Madden football also at the time and so i summoned an ancestor ghost, i think was a race power, and i used it like a blocker in football and ran past him. I'm thinking you could stock up on invisibility potions and sneak past him. When i bought my game i built my character up before starting any quests, i killed him easy.
