Help with races

I'm not exactly sure what is causing your problem.....BUT, I will give you two things to try: 1. When making a new race, try and create a copy of another race (like Imperial) instead of making a completely new race(you can still change the body files). 2. If you haven't already, when you make an NPC of your new race, try giving him/her some packages (scripts if you didn't know). I'm not sure that either of those suggestions will work but I hope they do! Good Luck~

This is probably happening because whatever race you added has changed the voice selection option for one of the default races. Since the voice selection is just a drop-down menu, it's very easy for modders to accidentally mess this up without even noticing.

If you can figure out which race it is you might want to go ask the person who made it if they would mind fixing the .esp.

Edit: Forgot to add, sometimes this happens when you mix language versions; for example an English install of Oblivion with a non-English mod.

If your game version is not english, try to get hairstyle mods in the same language:

when a mod edits a race adding hairs, eyes etc... it changes the race name to the mod language, making the game unable to find the audio files of the modified race.
