SnowFox35
Hi, I'm looking for games with nice blood effects. Anything with well-shaded pools or splashes/splatters. Some examples of high-quality blood effects I have liked in games are Skyrim (with Enhanced Blood Textures) and Dishonored 2. What comes to mind for you? I have never heard of this game before - I watched some videos of its gameplay after reading your post, and it fits very well.
RitualBlack
SOF2 is a good example (and one of my favourite games) though the textures are static. A few other good examples I've played are: BloodRayne 2AVP 2010Blade of Darkness (cool drip effect for walls but not normal mapped or anything)Dead IslandDoom rebootFEAR (series)Max Payne 3OvergrowthPaint the Town RedShadow Warrior rebootSingularity

Somehow, out of all of those games, I have only played Overgrowth, and I loved its blood effects. Paint the Town Red sounds like it lives up to its name. I'm interested in the drip effect you are talking about for Blade of Darkness. I will look into it soon. Finally, Shadow Warrior Reboot sounds interesting, even if I am just judging them by name. I have never heard of it before, and I am usually interested in concepts like these.
KatanaDV20
Some great lists of games shared here. I like those kinda games too. One gripe I have with some games today is the lack of persistence. For example you have a fight and kill 15 enemies in a game but after some minutes the game removes the bodies. So theres no sense and feel of any accomplishment. The Mad Max game is guilty of this, love the game but I have seen the games engine remove bodies after a battle. So yes, you get the fancy blood effects but nothing to show where they came from. Some games even remove the blood splatter! Theres no excuse for this, devs should give us a menu slider setting. Those with weak PCs can disable it , those of us with powerful systems can ramp that slider up. I cant recall the game but its a siege type medieval game and somehow its able to KEEP hundreds of bodies lying around after a battle!

I've thought about that ever since I was younger playing Transformers games. About the siege game, perhaps it was For Honor? I know it keeps many footsoldier corpses on the field with long persistence times.
