Can't install any games with mod loaders

Whenever I go to install a game with a mod loader, no files show up in the game directories when I launch the file explorer to select a game folder. All the files show up in the folder when I use file explorer by itself, but not when a mod manager opens the folder. I have tried this with both Vortex and Mod Organizer 2. I cannot install any games because I get the error that "This directory doesn't contain the game. Expected to find these files..." but the directory I select does contain the files. I have also tried manually typing in the directory to no avail.

Mod managers won't install games. They install mods for those games. Game needs to be there first, and you likely need to start it at least once... (depending on the game....)

 

Also, you really don't want to use more than one mod manager to deal with your mods. That can cause all sorts of interesting problems......

 

Can you actually RUN the games?? (either thru whatever launcher they have, or, directly from their exe file?)
