I've built a underground structure with rooms and what nots, but I cant not seem to figure out how I can connect a Power Generators and power lines so when the mod is loaded as you enter you can just flip a switch and there be Light, water and so on.

any help will appreciated thank you

LJ,

Unfortunately, you will not be able to make a working electrical grid with the Creation Kit. You will need to use FO4 edit to make those connections. Sadly, I can't readily point you to a tutorial. Try loading up the Homeplate player home in FO4 edit, and look for power grid under the respective workshop. It should give you are sense of how it is wired up.

Thank you pepperman35

Unfortunately I do not know much about FO4edit, I have looked and I did find the home plate entry but i have no idea what i'm looking at for the most part. I couldn't find anything that suggested power or generation or that kind of stuff but thanks anyways for your help.

I will keep look on the net but its most likely going to end up with very little info on this matter, I might have to drop a workbench with limited assets just so i can add power.

Something to consider:

Setting up a power grid in a mod only works if the place has not been loaded before in player's game.

This is because the power grid from the savegame will override anything else.

Possible workaround is to use F4SE's CreateWire/AttachWire functions from script.

personally i do this for my locations so players dont have to waste time connecting lights etc... ( workshop needed for this so player can interact and connect)

We are obviously talking about workshop lights in this case...(lights that need power to work as apposed to light sources we add to static fixtures)..

Simply duplicate any pylon or connector then edit to emit power over a wide radius (something like a wireless power transmitter ).

Place a wall gen next to it (WorkshopPowerInteriorFuseboxNoEdit ) and player only has to connect them to have lights and power for their gadgets) Caution : place wall gen(fusebox) at a distance from the wall so it can easily be connected because if you stick in the wall too deep it wont allow connection.

To test always use a save PRIOR to installing lights/power ( a clean save where you havent been there before is preferred )

Now if you want to use fixtures and light sources...then we have to use light switches, enable markers and a script for the switches.
