franchise
a simple question really.... how in the heck do you use the construction set on morrowind?seriously, beth soft made a real booboo with that coz it doesnt explain anything in the help guides.i managed to put in back information for a new guild and loads of new quests etc, but when i try to create new dungeons etc it goes balls up on me.i created a whole race, history, quests, class, guild, details of a seperate land and cities and culture etc for a dwarf race but again i couldnt make the island, houses outside, rooms inside or dungeonsor anything. i also couldnt make a working dwarf model even just by using nord features, shrunk down.its great using other peoples mods coz some are fantastic. but i would just like to be able to do these things for myself.my real question is, can these things be done just with the construction set or do you need special modders tools? i had plans to put in farm animals, livestock, pets, more fish, more flying creatures, but also go further and create new monster races starting with something simple like a beastman type monster by taking a nord body and adding different monster heads, in the hopes i would get better and finally be able to create dragons etc. but no chance. i tried to create new look weapons but that was a no go too. ok. rant over. if anyone can answer my question i would appreciate it. also i leave this question open for debate:- how can beth works improve on the construction set to make it more accessible on Oblivion? i suggest that they supply downloadable content that can be universaly used for modders, for instance new hair/beard that can be used on any race/monster, that would be something simple to add depth to the construction process. i also suggest that they supply a full construction guide that explains in absolute detail how to use every aspect of the construction set. il be interested to read other peoples ideas
Malchik
Well I'm not a modder but there are hundreds of different people out there modding or having made mods. Some are very complex (the mods as well as the modders). For this reason I don't think the set can be difficult to work with. Even computer illiterate me can create characters and use other mods to make them look different. If I can, I'm sure you can too. There is a tutorial. If you do a search on these forums you'll find several references to it. But check out what others have done. A new race, lands, quests etc. sounds good but there are lots of animal and bird mods available. It is probably better to use them rather than reinvent them. Unless you have a specific creature you want to see in game. Anyway, don't give up. If you post specific questions on the forum someone will help. Switch
You can't create new look weaponry and models using the construction set. You need a 3D modelling program for the models and a retexturing program in order to create new skins. Don't ask me the details, because I don't know them. ^^; I'm pretty sure there are threads on them though if you search. Personally I found the tutorial included with the CS ok to use. But I didn't really try using it for anything more complex than interior/exterior building, I suppose.
