DarkSoul10 Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 (edited) I just went back to playing Skyrim SE for the first time in about a month and a half to find that all my save files are now 0 bytes in size and have changed to .tmp files rather then .ess files, and now the game doesn't recognize them as save files. I literally haven't touched Skyrim or any of it's files for all that time and yet now it seems I have lost all my saves! The only thing that has changed on my computer is that I updated to Windows 11 when prompted, but surely that can't be the problem right? I really hope someone can tell me what's happened and that my saves can be recovered, otherwise I think I might be done with Skyrim for good this time as it never seems to be worth the hastle! HeyYou Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Search your entire C drive for *.ess files. See what it comes up with. The upgrade may have just missed a step or two, in moving files around.
DarkSoul10 Posted December 27, 2022 Author Posted December 27, 2022 (edited) No good I'm afraid. The only files that have .ess in it are in my Skyrim SE save folder and they are all reading 0kb Edited December 27, 2022 by DarkSoul10
