Radio Chatter Between Player and NPCs in certain locations and quests

basically a mod that is similar to PC head tracking but when in a enemy controlled area or when doing a quest based on something specific (maybe a MM radiant quest). for enemy controlled areas it would be like RAGE 2 ( i can't find an example so sorry about that) so like when you enter a raider controlled location you say something to a settler in the area and they talk back via radio. or when you are clearing the way for a new settlement instead of having to go back to the settler you can tell them via radio.

I second the second motion...

Hoofing it back to tell Garvey you did his homework for him always seemed... unprofessional.

Thought you both have "talkies" on your outfits already? Set them both to the same frequency. Idjits.

(Save on a ton of backtracking).

Would settle for phoning it in, quest completed.

Don't even need sound or animation, just be done with it already!

Thuggysmurf has this in place with one of his mods, the one with the bunker. Probably easier when there's not a vast and undocumented undergrowth of keywords, alias-assignments, actor values and tutorial messaging to take care of lest you break the game like in vanilla quests. SKK seems to have navigated this well with his quickstarts.

Having an alternative base game quest handin system that parallels the preston dialog is straightforward.

Just register a script for a crap tonne of "quest ready to handin" stages, pop a reminder and enable a menu/holotape/radio/activator/whatever to set the handin quest stage exactly as the preston topicinfo would. Zero base game hackery required. Only issue is (a) the tedium of generating the list of quests/stages and (b) some stuff may depend on preston 3d loaded, like setting animations or linked scenes.
