Peregrine
Completely ignoring the usual emotional reactions so obvious in the people around him, Ryan turned his attention instead to the methods of his former comrades' deaths. He had seen far too many people killed in far too many unpleasant ways to care. Especially not for three people who, for all their claims of family, were even more anonymous to him than most of those other deaths. But unfortunately, even with this clarity of thought, nothing made any sense. The Emperor's weapons and methods were completely unfamiliar to him, beyond all hope of analysis. Even more confusing was this Grandmaster's confidence in inviting them to join his rebellion, whatever it may be. The man didn't seem like the type to throw his life away, so there must be some counter to the Emperor's impossible powers. Maybe even one that Ryan could learn for himself? In that instant, as his final question entered his mind, Ryan knew his fate had been decided. For now, at least, he would stay, and see what his new allies might have to offer. Shadow of the Fallen
OOC: I apologize on my sluggishness as far as posting over the past couple of days. I have gotten myself sick again, this time stuck in bed for most of the day. Hopefully, I'll be able to concentrate on a single thought long enough to write a few sentences on it this weekend, but I wouldn't expect anything in the way of an update until tomorrow night or so. Again, sorry. I do know that it is time for me to post something, but I just don't have the strength or mindset to do anything along those lines at the moment. Shadow of the Fallen
OOC: Can't blame you pyro, badass game. IC: (Everyone except Vao, Ackon, and Yish) Addmaitus rose from his throne-like chair and began to rush towards the three fallen men, his face stark white. His eyes glanced frantically around the room and he flailed his arms wildly. His movements were frantic and hurried. "Quickly, all of you return to your homes, we will resume the meeting when next we are able!" he shouted, his voice a mix of urgency and despair. The grandmaster's feet attempted to move as fast as his mind, racing down the carpet just as his thoughts were racing around his skull. Men and women dissapeared as he made his way towards the group, dematerializing in flickers of light. Their faces were most unpleasant as they left, each of them seeming to be in a foul, depressed mood. The air sort of hummed as people left, the mana being released giving a slight vibration to the air. Someone had the heart to blink away the circulatory remains of the two unlucky ones. The grandmaster hardly took note of it, he needed to know if the three still had any chance of being recovered. He found out soon enough. ----- (Vao, Ackon, and Yish) Peace. Such a misinterpreted thing. Its always characterised by men as being something happy and joyful, something the world should strive for. The simple fact remained though, peace was total neutrality. There was nothing good about it, in the same respect, there was nothing bad about it, and neither was it boring. Peace was simply peace, it was simply there. Nothing else could describe it, because it is nothing. Death is nothing. Peace is death. Which made it odd, on an almost unrecognized level, that the peace was fading. They were dead after all, it only made sense that they should be at peace. Why now was the darkness giving way? There was no sense to it! Light appeared before the three, first a tiny point of it, then it began to grow and throb. The brightness shed away the darkness until it consumed all sight, and then it began to take shape. First as a rounded orb, then the inside hollowed out until it was a smooth circle. then another shape, amost oval, with pointed ends formed in the middle. Another orb formed in the middle of the oval, blindingly bright, followed by several triangles that lined the inside. The image looked strikingly familiar. In the next moment, you realised you were lying on the floor, in a rather uncomfortable manner, and that the back of your right hand was somewhat warm. OOC: Your legs are a bit shaky if you try to stand up, and you'll feel a bit disoreinted. Sorry this is kind of sparse, I wanted to write more, but I still haven't gotten completely over this damned cold. :undecided:
theForgottenSoul
Yish sat up, or tried to, but the pain that he felt was more excrusating than anything that they had done to him at the prison. His head felt like a mix between a hangover headache and a couple of migraines at once. "What? Where am I?" Yish blinked twice. "Oh, damn, well thats the last time I try something brave." Yish knew before he lunged at the Emperor that death had be enivable, and yet it seemed that death itself wasn't all that bad. He actually missed death. It called to him, the peace and serenity that had once filled his life, well actually death, it wanted to feel free again. But that simple pleasure had been denied. "One question, Addmaitus, before I do something like that again and are unable to awake from death. What does this symbol mean?" Yish was hoping that he was wrong and that he wouldn't have to ackoledge what he thought would be an evil truth pulsating through his existance in a part of his mind that had ben locked away. But Yish knew that the Grandmaster would give him the news he didn't want. Yish had been stupid before, thinking he could kill the Emperor with a mere sword. Next time he wouldn't be so ignorant. OOC: Sotf call me, we need to talk about your response.
