Crim, The Red Thunder
More specifically, it's been permanently included within another mod, is there some way to disable the no-glo functionality of the mod, while leaving the rest intact? If so, how? I felt this belonged better here since it deals with a specific mod or mod function, rather then general construction set use. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets moved somewhere else though.
Malchik
I'm a bit out of my depth here but I would have thought you could find the no-glo subdirectory and try deleting it (or perhaps in case the whole thing crashes simply moving it to a temporary file). If you have so many mods running as to make this difficult, download the mod again into a temporary file and examine the structure from there. Abramul
I AM out of my depth here. What's No-Glo?
Malchik
It's a mod that stops enchantments giving you the cellophane-wrapped look.
Abramul
Oh, ok. But isn't that hard-coded? If it could be changed, that would be great! *Polishes his enchanted Nordic Battleaxe*
Malchik
No-glo is a mod that removes it. If you don't like the shine, download the mod and away you go. What Crim is saying is that another mod, he does not say which, has No-glo embedded and he wants to play the mod but still wants to sparkle like a Christmas tree in December. Crim, The Red Thunder
*cough* *cough*... Sorry i wasn't here sooner... i don't want to sparkle like a christmas tree in decemeber but another mod has a texture enhancement for the enchantment 'cellophane' look and it's embedded as well. One or the other has to be disabled... (or both...) but i don't know how to do it... What were you talking about with the no-glo directory? you mean the files it uses to eliminate the cellophane texture? Edit: So i guess... maybe i do want to look like a christmas tree in december... just not a cellophane christmas tree!
Adras
Actually, there is a cool mod that doesnt take it away, but greatly reduces it. Its more of an electric shimmer that goes over it every once in a while. I love it. The name of it is... *searching*... Well... I cant find it, but I know there is one. I HAD it, but I cant find it anywhere. Anyways, like I said, it sends more of a shimmer across the enchanted item, so its not constantly glowing. *edit* I found it! lol It had some huge name that I didnt read. This isnt the same one I have, but I think it does just about the same thing: Enchantment Colors De-Enhancer by Evil Sorcerer. If you want the one I have, then just email me and I'll send it to you. Abramul
Well, found that one on MW Summit, but their search system is skankily javariffic, so I can't give a hard link. However, it appears to be #3423, if that means anything. Or you can search for the full name, only the one result. Gonna test it now... EDIT: Crim, if you get this one, open it, save it, and enable the newly-saved copy, it SHOULD replace the no-glo component of the other mod. Possibly. BlindEye
The Textures which control the Enchanted Glow effect are contained within a folder called "magicitem". I presume you are talking about Wakims Game Improvments with No-Glo embedded in it? Anyways, there are several mods that change these textures' pick one you like and then simply go into the "magicitem" folder and paste your desired textures into it; they will overwrite the old textures (or any other, from any mod) and then you should be good to go.
