Symphony8492
Hi all! I was trying to come up with an idea for a mod while playing Skyrim today, and it occurred to me that when you start a new game after playing a long time with your character, it's like "the birth of a new world", as if all the things you've done before with your previous character don't ever matter anymore. It's like they never existed. The old world is completely annihilated. Now, I understand that there's only room for ONE Dragonborn in the plot.. but let's talk from a role-playing perspective: what if, even after you start a new character, the one from your previous adventure is alive and STILL THERE? Roaming the wilderness or living a peaceful life, or even doing something completely random. So here is the idea. I am aware that someone may have thought about this ages ago, but I am talking about it again just for the hell of it :teehee: . It would be very, very interesting to see a mod that let's you import a character from a previous save, with, not only the same physical appearance as the player character, but also the same stats and items he/she had at the time he/she was imported. Then, when you're done importing the character, throw it into your new save as an NPC, then you would randomly bump into your character at different places while adventuring. I would even go a bit further and suggesting giving him/her a follower option, so that you can travel with your old character as master and pupil. So, yeah. There's my idea. Hope you like it. ScottC12
I'm not a modder, but I use a lot of follower mods, and I seem to recall that some of them were player's characters in their previous lives From what I have read and seen in some NPC creation tutorials here on the Nexus, the Creation Kit and possibly the Skyrim NPC Editor can be used to turn player characters into NPCs, including potential followers. Having a slicker way to do that would be great, though. Good luck in your quest!
dragonchris152
Not sure this is going to happen. It's actually very easy to add a character with the same stats and follower behavior, but having something automatically import seems a bit impractical. Someone could possibly do it, but it seems like it would get complicated and difficult for so little overall reward. Good luck though, maybe you'll get lucky.
