darklord888
So it's just because I used winrar instead? Damn, ok thanks I'll try it with 7zip then.
TGBlank
Dunno if that's the reason, it may be just an old version of winrar or something. Stick with 7zip tho. It's free and doesn't nag.
darklord888
Ah damn. I tried with 7zip and got the same cannot open error. I'm not sure what I can do. It just doesn't want to extract the files for some reason. :|
TGBlank
Corrupt download, redownload?, and unpack to a separate folder and then copy/move stuff?
nekoali
I just downloaded the file and was able to extract both of the zips using WinRAR with no errors. Try unzipping the second file to a temporary folder, then drag the folder labeled 'Data' and all its contents into your Fallout 3 folder, saying yes to any requests to over-write. Without seeing the actual error, I wonder if for some reason if your fallout/data folder is write-protected. It's possible that you have a corrupt download also.. Have you tried re-downloading the texture pack?
Guest chadmitchell7
I'm having this same prob but with many downloads here. Some work. I'm using 7zip
TGBlank
Probably write protected folder then, problem isn't with the mod, it's with your pc config. Lemme guess, vista, running as user, UAC is on?. *sigh*
Guest chadmitchell7
Bravo. I've only had this computer and been using vista for a few weeks.. -- so just turn uac off? what's "running as user" I tried that and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Maybe it's in my understanding however: is this a "corrupt" download or install issue? Should I redownload the files now that UAC is off? Just using 7zip still doesn't fix my issue. I also tried using a download manager to make sure I got the whole file.
