saying "no" to the guilds/ main quest?

i'm glad that there's a mod out there that lets you destroy the thieves guild itself, but I thought it was a bit too destructive. I mean you have the vanilla option to kill the dark brotherhood, but they had it coming, since they kill for a living. killing thieves is a bit too much.

i'd prefer a mod that lets you help mjoll arrest the thieves guild members, or at least just brinjolf when he wants you to frame that dark elf by stealing madesi's ring.

but what I really want is the option to say no to any guild so that you wont get the quest in your journal. like when you meet aela and she wants you in the companions, you should say "no I don't want to talk to kodlak or be a companon" and she wont give you the quest.

or with the winterhold college where you can say "no I don't want to join your college, I just want info for the elder scroll!"

maybe an option to say to aventus arrentino "NO I WONT KILL GRELOD CAUSE I AINT NO ASSASSIN, KID!!!!"

maybe a customization option in the MCM menu based on what class you are focusing your character

hell, maybe an option that lets you say to ralof or hadvar "NO! YOU GO WARN THE JARL OF WHITERUN ABOUT THE DRAGON IN HELGEN! I DONT WANNA DO THAT!"

i'm pretty sure there is a mod out there already, but if there isn't , hope someone makes something like this :P

if anyone knows the mod I want, can you tell me? thx! :P

If you say no to the quests, what would you do, do some quests but not others?

What kind of question is this, if you've been playing Skyrim to "do everything, accomplish all" then you are doing it wrong.

of COURSE if I am playing as a hero character i would NOT join the DB? Or if I was a straight up warrior I would NOT join the mages college? How could you even ask "you gonna do some quests and not others?" like what kind of question is that? Is there some kind of social justice that says that I can't discriminate between quests? Am I "quest-ist" for doing that? wthell?

I am not riled up, I'm just saying, lmao.

anyway as for the OP, there is a mod called The Choice is Yours that makes it so that you get fewer "forced quests" like when Aela talks to you or when you ask innkeepers for rumors and stuff. As for DB, just stay away from Aventus' house? And as for Brynjolf I actually have a console fix for that, as soon as you enter riften for the first time, Brynjolf is going to be creeping on you, whether in the inn or at the plaza, but anyway, as he is approaching you, pull up the console and select Brynjolf and type "tai" without quotes and enter it. That will freeze Brynjolf. Then go ahead and talk to him while he is frozen and he will start the conversation for stealing Madesi's ring, tab out of the conversation right after you initiate it and he will say "I can take a hint, blah blah" and once he is done talking, no quest will initiate, and then you can go ahead and go back into console and "tai" him again, and he will go about his business and never bother you again.

It's a single player game, you're never doing it wrong.

Anyway instead of that console fix, I believe that the mod thief guild requirements allows you to set it so byronjorf ignores you until you actually do some thiefish things.

the fact that it is a single player game doesn't mean you can't do it wrong. Jacking off is a single player game but you can still do it wrong, I can't imagine how but its possible.

Sure he has the right to play it however he wants but that doesn't mean its the way it was intended to be played (a.k.a. doing it right)

Actually no your kind of wrong. Ever notice how those restrictions morrowind use to enforced disappeared? The game practically supports a jack of all trades style the most, thus the need for mods like these. Besides if someone wants to roleplay that he joins all the guilds then he can as this is a game where you decided your own story. Your more or less acting as ignorant as him. Anyway I'm getting way off topic with this so I'll stop here.
