mhoffman52
Just as the title suggest I am unable to play Fallout3 I just got mine during the steam sale and installed the update as their forums suggested, before I even played. When I click on the play button. Nothing happens. No crash window, nothing. I checked for my fallout.ini files and found it missing. I removed the other falloutprefs.ini as suggested by another post on here and they were recreated when I started fall out again. I added the bUseThreadedAI=1 and iNumHWThreads=2 then tried it but still nothing. I guess I should of paid attation when steam said it was not setup for Windows 7 Other details, I have my files on a seprate drive as I have an SSD.Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX770 4gbThe fallout.ini files are located in my c drive user folder Oh almost forgot this. When I appled the non offical update, I got a message stating it could not find the fallout.ini files. Hence why I started there. Let me know if you need any more details. BlackRampage
Just as the title suggest I am unable to play Fallout3 I just got mine during the steam sale and installed the update as their forums suggested I guessing that this is where the problems started. If you have the steam version of Fallout 3, then steam automatically updates the game to the latest version. Installing some manual update on top of it might have broken your game. Might be best to uninstall the game, remove any and all files & folders related to it, then reinstall. As an addendum: Fallout 3 works just fine on a newer OS like Windows 7. Just ignore the "warning".
