overload1977
Nope. I had BS already installed and enabled the moment I stepped out of Vault 101 for the first time. I had never even played the after-end or level-cap raising mods, any of them. Broken Steel LOADS perfectly. Like I said, level 24 and facing Broken Steel enemies occasionally. It just won't go beyond the main quest. hmmm what dose it do after Take it Back quest ? i`m a bit confussed need a bit more info, do you wake up two weeks later at the Citadel on a bed ? jetflightgirl
No. The game just ends. I get the end-game narrative, and then it's credits and back to main menu. No 2 weeks later whatsoever.
overload1977
ok you have not installed it right then maybe ? Broken Steel help Instructions Place the bik files into your Fallout3 \data\video folder.Place the bsa and esm files into your Fallout 3 \data folder.Activate the files in the Fallout 3 Launcher.Play the game! i bet you missed the videos :) also you need the 1.5 patch it also works with the fake 1.5 patch but you need to edit the fallout.ini
jetflightgirl
B27.bik, B28.bik, B29.bik, B09.bik, 2 weeks later.bik that's what came in Broken Steel's own data/video folder, and those i've put into the game's data/video folder, as well. Also, I have the fake 1.5 (because the real one won't work with mods... or anything for that matter). I did as the stickied topic (How to get DLCs and mods working together) instructed up until (but not including) FOOK and stuff... what else do i need to edit in fallout.ini? overload1977
ok here you need to edit your fallout.ini like this If you have Operation: Anchorage: CODEsArchiveList=ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Voices.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - MenuVoices.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa, Anchorage - Main.bsa, Anchorage - Sounds.bsa If you have both The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage: There is a 255 character count limit for .ini entries. To shave a few characters, rename your ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa to AII.bsa and change your Fallout.ini accordingly. AII will work exactly the same, but getting the character count under 255 will allow for all the DLC .bsa's to load properly. this is why i stopped using the fake patch its good but still needs alittle works to get running CODEsArchiveList=AII.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Voices.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - MenuVoices.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa, Anchorage - Main.bsa, Anchorage - Sounds.bsa, ThePitt - Main.bsa, ThePitt - Sounds.bsa if you need more info with the fake patch look here >>>>> http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.ph...=988596&hl=
jetflightgirl
I do have FOSE though, and neither O:A or Pitt are giving me trouble. And, as I said, Broken Steel seems to PARTIALLY load, too... just not give me the ACTUAL, after the end content, just the 10 extra levels with perks and the new enemies. Well... only thing I can think of trying right now is turbo-boosting another, lowbie char through the mainquest to see if i get the Broken Steel content. My current character was started with a 1.5 patch install but since the game rapidly devolved into permanent crash-mode, I backed up one save and did a reinstall with the fake patch and FOSE and FOMM and such. It's the ONLY thing left that I can think of right now.
Wandik
from everything you have written, it looks you have BS installed right, including the BSAmanager/.ini thingy... try to play a bit with quest-related console codes, to list and/or activate different quest stages of "Take it back!"... and, if this not helps, try to play with "Free play after MQ", and add BS quests via console... have no other idea how to solve it another way :(
jetflightgirl
Any idea what'd be the codes to trigger the 2 weeks later thing? Didn't notice it on Vault wiki...
Wandik
i'm on pc without FO3 now, so i can't prove it, but try to look into stages of !Take it Back!", maybe Two weeks later is one of it's stages...
jetflightgirl
Nope <_< tried stage 61 (Lyons saying "Let's get this place secured") and stage 200 (which completed the quest and gave me a bunch of XP, but no 2 weeks later... This thing is starting to make me gray before my time... edit: yup, tested with a brand new character as well (tgm, experimental mirv with endless ammo - fun!). A little while after leaving the vault, it reported that BS had been loaded, level cap was raised to 30, but when I sped to the end, there was nothing beyond the rotunda...
