  1. yes, at the end it seems things go well again :) thanks for your time, it is nice to see some feedback here, to the contrary to usuall support stuff "do not read your posts" or "solve it yourself" behavior :) kudos
  2. yes, it did happen like that 11 hours ago... now, it acts very different - for starters, it finally happens to download from Amsterdam, NL (or it goes through different premium servers to check which one is available, it is the first time i see NMM to act like that), download goes faster, but especialy for that NL server, it stops at 2/3 of progress with error: unable to finish the download. i can resume the file, which finishes the download correctly. when i switch back to default server location, it goes through various "server busy or unavailable, retrying" messages while trying different servers, just now i ended up at Salt Lake 4 server with 1kb/s speed... EDIT: seems my premium membership ended just in the time i was off, i renewed it and i am back at Kent, UK server, and so far it seems i can finish all downloads i started... but obviously, this was not the issue as my membership was still valid at the time OP was posted.
  3. yes; it starts at 1-3 kb/s and the speed does not rise... at least not until my patience goes wild
  4. I tried to vary the setup - but no matter the location or "choose only premium servers" option i choose to prefer, it always gets the file from Kent, UK server. I have also tried various threads count option, and there goes some interesting results. I have tried to DL the same file (soul gems differ) 10 times to see what happens - in 6 cases, the download stucked when number of threads lowered from 4 to 1 when the DL is close to finish (usually around 95 percent). When i set the number of threads to 1, it always starts at speed around 1-3 kb/s and the speed does not get up at all. Imho, the first DL connection opened is always that slow, but when i use more threads at same time, the following connections open at standard speed - and when the download is closing to finish and threads are closing, when the "slow" first thread is chosen to remain, it makes the DL to "hang on" while still showing high DL speed like the software couldnt realise there is only one thread with few kb speed left only... When "strong" fullspeed thread is selected to remain at the end of each download, it ends correctly (well this is only the opinion based on watching the behavior as i have no idea how is is coded). This corresponds to the browser download behavior, because there, always only one thread to the server is opened - the speed varies from 1 to 3 kb/s... in browser, i have similar speeds to every premium server, free servers are bit faster (10s of kb/s) but the download is usualy timed out after few seconds. Of course it resumes again, but this is definitely not standard behavior. As i said before, i have no troubles with downloading from anywhere else, even using various protocols like ftp or p2p. Any chance to give me the IPs of servers so i can try to track down the route?
  5. Sadly, i have the same issues with downloading mods from premium servers. This is especially easy to see in NMM, when the mod hangs up for several (even 10s of) minutes before the download is finished. This happens for few past days, on both older NMM 44.3 and latest 44.4. I have stable cable connection with top DL rate 7mb/s, havent tried free servers yet, but the prblem with premium download happens in browser as well... as you can see on screenshot, this is the situation where DL stucks for several minutes (12 already and still continues...) http://i47.tinypic.com/ebbpcg.png anything i can do to help track the issue?
  6. just one more bit about hair mods - i have extended my experiments to a point, where only vanilla skyrim + all DLCs wit all unofficial patches along with few character-related texture improvements, SkyUI and iHUD plus ONE ESM HAIR MOD (apachii or oblivion) are installed; this setup always go to crash on the very same helgen cutscene point. Disabling the hair esm solves that... As i simply can't blame few widely used texture mods to be the reason, and the same with unofficial patches, it simply has to be the hair mod fault - or better to say, hair mod with official DLCs'? I have also tried the same setup without official DLCs, and surprisingly, it didn't crash in the obvious cutscene point, but when i tried to go to menu (by pressing ESC) just after the autosave when you jump down of the carriage. my log looks like this: no rampaging script or such things... So, i really tend to blame the hair esm. Or we should blame helgen itself, as it was a source of many problems in the past as well? Oh, and my saves are almost 6mb with all DLCs, 3.3mb without...
  7. Have to say i am having the same issue with Dragonborn "DLC2PillarBuilderActorScript" - even at the very beginning of new game during Helgen cutscene just before the carriage reaches its destination - CTD... Sadly, papyrus log is full of that DLC2PillarBuilderActorScript errors along with tons of others DLC2 related script errors :( What is strange, i was able to finish the cutscene only once, with super-vanilla skyrim+DLCs, now with unofficial patches and very few other mods i got CTD every time... mod list follows... so, i removed Dragonborn, believing it was the culprit, but surprisingly i got another CTD at the very same place. After that i started removing one mod after another, and guess what, my CTD was caused by Apachii hair mod... Sure, there are tons of lines about apachii hair causing trouble, but - this was the starting cutscene before my character was made, and there was no mod porting apachii hair to NPCs, so i felt really safe with that. What i want to say - dragonborn may cause some trouble visible in papyrus log, but does not have to be the cause of CTDs every time... EDIT: just if you think apachii hair is the sole cause of errors, i have tried another non-replacer hair mod - oblivion hair, which caused the same CTD as apachii's... just wonder why all the hair mods do this :(
  8. i'm not sure, but some mods do have warning in readme about possible slowdown - i would point to MMM, and all large mods in general in this situation - most big mods are heavily scripted, and add lots of high quality stuff - this means much more load for your hardware as in vanilla... memory leaks are hard to solve - there are some or plenty in vanilla too, maybe your framerate decreased significantly because of entering new area with possible leak, and are not caused by mods only... watching for leaks is not easy, never tried it myself, but teoretically you should use some process monitoring tool to watch fallout3.exe process while playing - best practise is to use second monitor here :) to the order - looks good :) i'm playing with very similar one (besides testing FOOK2 beta :) ) with old FWE, some armor and weaps visual replacement mods, and rain and snow mod loaded before fellout :) oh, and phalanx too :D
  9. this short freezes could point to small cache, when the game is loading more resources as you move in the world. i would suggest to set swap file size to "windows reccomend" and turn off sw running on background. defrag should help too...
  10. red exclamations means missing resources - textures etc. for DLC's, resources are packed in .bsa files, although game should do it automatically, i would suggest to use archiveInvalidation in FOMM, and then check with BSA manager, if all your bsa files are loaded correctly
  11. check if you have all .bsa files loaded - use BSA manager to load all of them. and, if you have more DLC's, there should be problem with characters limit in Fallout.ini file - more in my sticky topic
  12. ...or you can restore backups, if you have any... if you have Vista, there will surely be atleast one shadow copy of your meshes directory...
  13. why do you think there is something wrong? :) only things i would change is loading GNR mod before FOOK.esp, and downloading UF3P - the unofficial should go as first esp file in load order...
  14. I'm happy to inform, that my gaming rig, and obviously FO3 too, is up and running again! After some starting troubles with 64bit Vista and newer versions of tools and mods, i was able to move my mod setup and (!) saves from old PC to new one. Not only i'm now able to play at max details without any lag, i was even able to finish The Pitt very fast without any errors (at places, where FO3 went down every couple of minutes before)! I will post my current order (just for info), and will start with checking new mods and new versions in next few days... 15. which patch are you using? 1.5? 1.6? 1.7?? As i wrote before - i had no chance to test last two patches, but now, with my ring up and working, i'll be able to "regenerate" the guide with lastest patch and DLC's about your mods: I haven't tried most of them, but if you disable almost all, and leave only this "approved" ones, you shouldn't experience leveling errors Fallout3.esm ThePitt.esm BrokenSteel.esm FakePatch_v1.4.0.22c.ESM Unofficial Patch.esp Unofficial Patch The Pitt.esp WMK.esp Fellout-SOTD.esp Fellout-pipboylight.esp Fellout-BrokenSteel.esp never tried unique weapons textures, but as this patch changes only textures? (not sure here), you shouldn't have problems there too... good luck
  16. sorry guys, i had a vacation, and i'm still without FO3, both my gaming rigs are under hw update and reinstall procedure... iman: skip the following... [X] ThePitt.esm [X] Anchorage.esm [X] BrokenSteel.esm [X] SS Weapon Effects.esm [X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - The Pitt.esp [X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch - Operation Anchorage.esp [X] FOOK - The Pitt.esp [X] FOOK - Anchorage.esp [X] FOOK - SS Weapon Effects.esp [X] FOOK - SS Weapon Effects DLC.esp i've included the weap effects, until they are available... or you can try the universal version, maybe it will affect FOOK weaps too (not tested by myself) phatboy: strange... just before i left to vacation, i started to experience A LOT of errors while playing the pitt, the game crashed every couple of minutes - so i patched to 1.6, and it looked to be better, but soon the errors returned. and because the errors happened while playing another games too, i decided to reinstall (xp sp3 after about 16 months using...) - so i'm unable to help any other way now :( mckye: pm IMPORTANT INFO: if you are following the guide, be awared of some files missing. meanwhile i have no time to check the links and find mirrors or substitutes :( consider installing 1.6 patch too, it will help you overcome the bsa loading problem (in 1.1), and probably it's quite safe with all major 1.5 bugs fixed. The load order will remain same with 1.6 so far, after geting my pc's working i will return to it, i'm planning to start the list from the beginning with 1.6 and new mods' releases (FOOK, FWE, ...etc?) good luck
  17. ... strange - he is not looking at me at all with same setup :( i've noticed it is UF3P feature, but it's not wrking for me :( maybe some other mod later in load order changed it back, i'll have to check it in FO3edit :) thanks for remind me this, i've not visited dogmeat for a long time, so i'm not missing it :D
  18. hm, worth trying... :/ i'll try to measure FPS with different patches on weekend
  19. check ini file if you are loading all bsa files - more in my sig link :)
  20. nice findings guys :) please post if you have any mod-related errors with 1.6; i mean somethink like first post about MMM and mirelurks, with mod version you are using... thanks a lot
  21. Works on "getting mods working..." put to pending state (although there were no updates lately...) due to new beth patch *waiting for mods' updates, compatibility patches, maybe new fake and unofficial patch to be released* ...maybe i'll stop the fake way, and start a new one based on 1.6 patch (as seen from last reports, bugs with mods except the "racism" white bug were solved) ... i'll start new mods "pack" after all "main" mods will be marked as safe for 1.6 (either by mod updates, or via compatibility patches). also, i'm waiting eagerly for new FOOK release. with my new rig, i'll be able to add some more FOOKU texture updates too... i wanted to post another part of my guide about adding custom hair, which happened to be a bit hard process because of adding a lot of user made hair packs into one loading order, but with release of FACE, adding almost all custom hair and eyes should be easy - i'll add this mod into the new version as well. good luck everyone :)
  22. 23. ...and if you have another pc (maybe a notebook) in same network, there's much better way :) by using taskkill command like this: "taskkill /S [your fallout pc name, without brackets] /U [user with admin rights on that pc] /P [this user password] /IM Fallout3.exe" example: imagine we have fallout crashed on pc named "homepc", it has built in administrator account "administrator" with password "12345". the command will then look like this: "taskkill /S homepc /U homepc\administrator /P 12345 /IM Fallout3.exe" it works like a charm on my XP pc :) i'll bet vista has same command
  24. looks like you are missing "FOOK - Anchorage.esp" and "FOOK - Anchorage hotfix.esp"... one of them is in fook main files, the second is in separate download (i hope, don't remember it very well...) look into my pinned thread. maybe it's written there ;) (can't remember either...:D )
