Switch
ok this shouldnt really be in the newbie forum but nevermind ^_^ u dont gain levels by doing quests, its by gaining in ur skills. u gain in them by using them, eg u gain in destruction by casting spells of that school, u gain long blade/blunt weapon etc by fighting enemies using those weapons. once u get 10 gains from ur major/minor skills (not 10 in one skill, 10 in any of them, eg u cud get a level up from 1 blunt weapon gain, 2 medium armour gains, 5 heavy armour gains, and 2 athletics gains). so basically u gain levels by fighting not quests also, welcome to the forums! :P
thanateros
a quick way to level your combat skills instead of going bandit hunting is to learn a conjuration spell like ancestral ghost or skeleton minion. go out of town somewhere (they really don't like it when you use necromancy in town) and then beat the thing senseless. wash rinse repeat, and you should gain a couple of levels in no time. another way to lvl armor is to run into a rat or similiar low lvl monster you'd find along a trail and let it wail on you for a while, when your health gets low use a regen health spell and keep doing it until you run out of magicka and then kill it and rest. there are other more complicated ways of leveling, that take much longer but i find these to be the quickest ways to get up in lvls. Switch
yeah, the arena storage in the arena canton in vivec is a great place to train. it has 2 rats which constantly respawn whenever u exit and enter, so u can keep killing them to gain weapons skills/let them wail on ya for armour skill. if u want directions to the arena storage, go to vivec foreign quarter, go to the gondilier (guy wearing the oversized hat) and talk 2 him, select travel and click arena. go up the canton (name for the big square buildings in vivec if u didnt know) and enter the waistworks. then have a look around inside and u'll soon find the entrance to arena storage. go in, kill them, exit, wait a couple of seconds, go back in and kill them again, rinse, and repeat. :P or just stand there and let them attack you, and use potions/spells to heal urself. note u have 2 open the door on the right in there to get to the second rat (having two attacking u will increase ur skill faster.) thanateros
(having two attacking u will increase ur skill faster.) that's another good way to get up in armor fast is to go out into the wild and have a bunch of critters start wailing on you if you can take it. the best option is to go to the coastal areas and have a group of slaughterfish attack you but i suggest having access to an area effect spell when you want to send them to fishy heaven. being hit constanly limits your attacking capabilities and it gets annoying having a lot of monsters attacks you and not be able to fight back. Mojlnir
Another effective method for leveling up is to use the many trainers that are found around Morrowind. They are NPCs, usually located in the various Guild halls, who will train a particular skill for a fee. The fee increases as your level goes up, so it can become expensive. Also, you'll need a place to rest in order to complete the level up. Get money through thievery, and you're off to the races.
