SuperNeves
hi there sooo...when i try to play oblivion, just when i press "play" in the autorun my computer tries to load the game but then suddenly *BOOM* it goes back to the desktop. So i went searching and got to know that it was most probably due to bad arrangement of mods. Now all i need to know is how to re-arrenge them TT.TT I really need help because i want to play it so bad now with my baddass mods :P Mods in OBMM are arranged as following: *Oblivio.esm*Kvatch Rebuilt.esm*VVAdvanced.esm*Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esp*VVAdvanced.esp*Vim_and_Vigor_Alcohol.esp*Kvatch Rebuilt - OOO Compatibility.esp*Kvatch Rebuilt.esp*MidasSpells.esp*FFVV_OOO_Birthsigns.esp*Malevolent.esp*Lost Paladins of the Divines.esp*DLCShiveringIsles.esp*DLCBattlehornCastle.esp*DLCFrostcrag.esp*VVAdvanced-SI.esp*DLCThievesDen.esp*DLCVileLair.esp*aaaBorsBedrolls.esp*ClocksOfCyrodill.esp*HouseMapMarkersOnlyBought.esp Now all I need to know is how to properly arrange these mods -- All mods were downloaded form TESNexus (if memory serves me right) So pleaaaaase help out a noob =S i reeeeeeeeeally want to play this awesome game =D :thanks:
bben46
The list in the Oblivion data is not in load order. To get a real load order, you need OBMM (Oblivion Mod manager) available Here:http://timeslip.chorrol.com/obmm.html This not a mod and does not install like a mod - So read the instructions first.OBMM has several ways to show the mod list, but the load order is the default. It also allows you to move nods around in the load order. Then, many mods require either the latest patch, or OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender) available here:http://obse.silverlock.org/Check the write up for each mod to see what is needed. Again, not a mod so read the install instructions. The patch is available from The Bethesda site - it's free. Be sure to get the one that matches the language of your disk - If you have the GOTY version, It is already patched and dosn't need to be patched again. Here:http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_patches.htm Note, if you have a downloaded version, such as D2D, you must go to their site for the patch. If you have a pirate version it won't work. Don't be so cheap, buy the game. OBSE will not work with downloaded versions because of their copy protection schemes. OBSE and OBMM must be started before Oblivion. If you use the built in Oblivion Launcher in OBMM, it will automatically look for OBSE and start it first when you start Oblivion from there. So, to play, Start OBMM, set your load order, then click on 'Launch Oblivion' on the right margin. OBMM will start OBSE then close itself. OBSE will load then start Oblivion. henrydossle
I really am not sure what all the fuss people have with load order is. I've played Oblivion for years and have never once come across such and issue, and i must have nearly a hundred mods! Weird, huh?
AzirAphale001
General Load-Order GuidelinesHere are the guidelines that I adhere to, personally. ~ Unofficial Oblivon Patch should always be first on the list. The fixes are great, but most aren't essential, so if a mod overwrites them its not a big deal, and the fixes have the potential for screwing up other mods if loaded later. ~ Offical Content (DLC's) should be loaded last, until you complete all quests associated with them (that includes buying all furniture for the houses and whatnot). Once they're complete, they can be safely moved up in the list. This is especially important for Knights of the Nine, which will have some fairly major problems unless loaded last (unless you get the UOP for KotN) ~ Major overhaul mods (OOO, Frans, MMM) should be loaded near the end. That gives you the most complete experience with any of those particular mods. It also lets you carefully choose which other mods to load afterwards... only move mods that you know will conflict and that you want the changes from. For example, I have Improved Soul Gems below OOO because I know that OOO changes the icons of some of the SG's, and ISG needs to be below to show through. Some people will recommend putting larger mods first, but personally I disagree. There are a number of mods out there that make minor tweaks, and loading after a large mod will end up completely overwriting a chunk from one of the bigger mods because of the way conflicts work in Oblivion (even one minor change will take precedence over the entire record... for example, simply tweaking the speed of a weapon can cause every stat of that weapon to be retained to vanilla levels if loaded later). So basically, it stacks up like this... Oblivion.esmUnofficial Oblivion Patch<Minor Mods / DLC's (Post-Completion)><Major Overhaul Mod/Mods><Mods that specifically conflict with overhauls and need to take precedence><DLC's (Pre-Completion)> Expanded Load-Order Guidelinesby dev_akm I would extend this to include: Oblivion.esmUnofficial Oblivion Patch<Weather/Environment/Sound Mods><Minor Mods/New Items/Houses/DLC's (Post-Completion)><Major Overhaul Mods><Mods that specifically conflict with overhauls and need to take precedence><DLC's (Pre-Completion)><Quests><Compatibility Patches/UOMP/Merged Leveled Lists> And a special-case warning for Knights.esp (Knights of the Nine) -- you may not be able to move it earlier than some other mods (some people have had problems after moving it before OOO, for example). That's basically the structure I use and I have 140+ mods working well together. Another way of describing this (posted by DMan77):....Oblivionunoffical patchDeeper realism mods that add sights and soundsadded content like weapons/itemsgameplay changes, like 'must eat and sleep'The OOO typethe 'new begining' type mod...................................................................................................
