FushimiTamamo
Hello everyone, considering this is my first post on the Nexus Forums, please let me know if I did anything wrong with this topic. I barely know anything about modding and have just started getting involved in using the Creation Kit for FO4, and I'm trying to replace the gridiron face paint with a custom .dds texture that I made. However, I've looked for help in sources such as YouTube and other places, but they all talk about static objects, and not something similar to face paint. Could someone enlighten me? Nakagawa777
First, create the folders "Textures", "Actors", "Character", "Character Assets", and "TintMasks". The dds names range from "FacePaint1" to "FacePaint20
RoNin1971
To replace a texture, you need to go to your fallout 4's installation folder and look for the .\Data folder. There you create the same path the texture has (inside the "- textures.ba2" archive). In this case as Nakagawa777 has posted.Put your dds texture image there, using the exact same name as the one you wish to replace. You could also just extract all the original .ba2 archives to the .\data folder and edit or replace the original textures directly. Now make sure you have 'loose files' enabled, so the game will load the files inside the .\data folder.Open your Fallout4Custom.ini and add (or check for presence)[Archive]bInvalidateOlderFiles=1sResourceDataDirsFinal= Start the game and enjoy your new texture. Yes. Indeed. That doesn't involve anything other then your favorite graphics program that exports DDS format and notepad.
