JohnsonDown
Hello everyone, I wanted to create a new hair for my character.I was thinking of Ragnar from the series "Vikings" and there is even a hairstyle that looks smiliar ingame, but it is for orcs. So I tried anyway but I'm not that happy with the result. I tried to move it in the nifskope but it don't look very good.Look here: http://i.imagebanana.com/img/v151wbok/thumb/back.pnghttp://i.imagebanana.com/img/q3526079/thumb/front.pnghttp://i.imagebanana.com/img/rtvzvfy3/thumb/othrside.pnghttp://i.imagebanana.com/img/zm2him0l/thumb/side.png http://data3.whicdn.com/images/65648241/large.jpg That's the original Ragnar. I just want the edge of the hair straight, like in the original picture, because ingame it looks very odd.Is there something I can do about it or someone who can fix this or at least a few tipps? Thanks for any help!
Oubliette
If the original mesh has an alpha layer all you'd need to do is adjust it to get the straight edge. An alpha layer controls transparency, bits painted black on a texture will be entirely see through in game, varying shades of grey will lend varying amounts of transparency. If the mesh doesn't have an alpha layer the easiest way to achieve your goals would be to give it one in nifskope and then adjust the texture till you get the straight edge you want. Unfortunately I can't walk you through how to add an alpha layer to a mesh's UV map but google should be able to guide you further. Good luck. JohnsonDown
Okay great, you gave me an idea. Thanks. It's a little bit too much work for a small thing like this but I'll give it a try.
JohnsonDown
Sorry for doublepost, but there is something more Hey another question, would be cool if you guys could help me with this one.I tried to make a new hairstyle for Nord with Orc hair.It fits now with the nord head but I have a problem with the head extra parts. It's kinda hard to explain when you're not into this but it's actually not that complicated so please don't get scared away because of all that text. So I took the orcmalehair17.nif and then the hairlinemaleorc15.nif and fitted them onto a human head.Looks good this far, but I wanted to add stubbles so it doesn't look so bald and took the maleredguardhair01.nif, so basically the normal stubbles you can take in game. But now it seems that the extra parts from the hairline and stubbles are somehow overlapping.See picture.http://s1.directupload.net/images/140803/temp/5nsh62tf.pngMy question is why and can it be helped? Other thing is, I wanted to change the pigtail to another one = orcmalehair.14. But just the pigtail and add it to my custom mesh that I fitted for Nords = orcmalehair17.nif. http://s7.directupload.net/images/140803/temp/ofa3q435.png Is there a way to "cut" the pigtail from the one, delete the one from the other, and then add the one I want? Sounds little confusing I guess, but still I know there are a lot of useless file names that probably won't help, but maybe someone knows what am I talking about and can even help.Would be really really nice, since this doesn't seem like a big thing to someone who knows how to create models and work with meshes, sadly I have no idea how to do it and i would value every help you can get me.
