avatar image can not be changed

when i want to change the avatar image, the same old image is always displayed. no matter which avatar image i insert, the same old image is always displayed.
Deleting the avatar image works normally.

 

only here in the forum it is displayed correctly

can someone please help me ?

Thanks for the report. This is a known problem.

 

In short, your avatar gets cached (both by the browser and certain web servers) for a long time and is only updated every so often.

 

You can try to force it to update by opening the image in a new tab (it's a right-click option in most browsers) and pressing Ctrl + F5 to tell you browser to ignore the cache and fetch a new copy.

 

What you'll find is most other users will see the updated version anyway, but it doesn't update for you for a few days in the worst case. Currently I can see a Puss In Boots on the forums and a woman with her head between prison bars on the site side. So that likely means it hasn't updated on the server-side just yet.

yes, I would like to have the cat as an avatar, the woman was only meant as a test.

then i won't change anything anymore and wait until it updates itself.
