How to Patch Mods

Are there any good resources for learning how to patch mods? I can muddle through making an xedit patch for record conflicts but have no clue on terrain conflicts. Example....

 

Legacy of the Dragonborn adds a meteorite outside Anise's Cabin

 

Ryn's Anise's Cabin changes the landscape and covers the meteorite

 

Any help is appreciated.

You have to load both conflicting mods in the Creation Kit. Load the cell in question in the render window. Adjust what you need to adjust. And save the patch plugin.

 

That is the easy part. Hopefully things have gotten better with the SSE CK fixes mod that is out there. But there was a time when the CK INI had to be modified to allow more than one master file. And then any ESP file intended to be a master or already a master had to have its internal flag set to ESM before the CK would use it as a master file.

 

I haven't done any patch type mods in a long time. So... with any luck there may be an easier way these days.
