Cyrodiil Tycoon and Political Prosperity

Okay, my summer projects (okay I have a LOT of projects but these are the big ones and hopefully the ones I release) are Cyrodiil Tycoon and Political Prosperity (or possilbly combining them). Sometimes I get bored with the guilds and once you finish one of them (ie: thieves guild) theres not really anything left to do of a similar nature (ie: dark brotherhood, theres no point in killing people in cities if you don't get paid or bonuses) and houses and horses seem to be the only things worth calling "investments" excepting giving a merchant 500 gold but that's miniscule. So I came up with Cyrodiil Tycoon which will add several new settlement's/towns none as big as cities but not so small as the puny settlements in Oblivion already that you can invest in and develop. For example in the region of the Jerral Mts. Northwest of Bruma there will be a town that has a spa that you can purchase, staff, and reap the profits from, an inn that you can do the same, and mines (a gold and a silver) each town will have its own unique profit opportunities and a quest line for each town about half the size of a guild's. Political Prosperity (name pending doesn't seem to have a very nice ring to it) will make making a living without fighting much more fun and enjoyable. And offer a variety of quest lines. The title is somewhat of a mistnomer, the mod will make social activities much more frequent and important, have visitors to your house, gain prestige and fame by throwing fantastic parties, have Ocato stay at your house. Be a gentleman by day gaining influence with politicians and wealthy merchants and then steal from fabulous mansions by night. Become a powerful politician, even become a count or a member of the Elder Council, perform espionage and sabatoge from assassinations to thefts and examining campaign plans. Essentially what the two mods are meant to do is make the role-playing experience much broader and less combat-essential and to provide other venues to perform the enjoyable practices of stealing, sneaking, and assassinating and even showing off skills like magic and bladework in an atmosphere more like renassaince age courts where it's for sport not life-or-death in some cave.

Those are some nice ideas

These links aren't really what your idea asks for but they might keep you going until someone takes an interest.

Its some assasination quests, working via dead drop sort of things, nothing to with Dark Brotherhood, but has something to do with it.

Brewing House, personally one of my favorite mods, its a farm, but theres alot of ways to expand it, Buy a lake, uses for all those Hoes and rakes etc. Allows you to really live off the land.

You can end up as Emperor or High Chancellor, its currently being modded, its got some very good and detailed quests.

I know these aren't what your looking for but they might keep occupied until some one mods this which i really hope they will.

I really like this Idea, Bravo

I personally believe it work rather well with the DC mods Fort Akatosh, Elder Council, Guards of Cyrodiil and Cyrodiil overhaul upgrade

You might want to talk with DC guys try to make work with the elder council mod already in place. Having the option after you reach the duke lets say you have this option to either take a political rout or more a John D. Rockefeller bring industrial way of thinking to Cyrodiil.

What ever race you happen to be is the senator/chancellor you would become, custom races default to imperial. Because of elder council mod you already happen to be apart of legion and high ranking member at that. So that would let you to have choice, either serve the empire as you always have or take the chance at empire building, civil war, assassination, but none less crown yourself as Emperor.

John D. Rockefeller rout, help build economic superpower, help industrialize Cyrodiils industry. Like you said Zephyr, but with twisted. Start out with small camps, as you grown as Tycoon you might have to update from pickax, to steam pump mine, to a industrial mining complex. Using dwemer tech, steam power could be there and lore could be upheld.

industries as I see mining, timber, furs, wine, farming and more grand of that Plantation (example: Steam power sugar mill), fishery, textiles, pottery, metalwork

Tycoon building player owned: Ports all over the place, .. lets say Anvil, you have upgrade your port to a Commercial port it gives you income of 700 septim a week, but you need to upgrade to Commercial basin which would give you 1500 septims a week. All industries would play out something week or monthly.

Would it be nice to have Plantation or Royal estate on the Niben Bay... Watching the ships come in at port Anvil, watching your global empire grow.. I could dig the image of tycoon... (Might be in part , because I am business owner myself.....)

Glad to see such good interest. As soon as I finish my current project (a necromancy mod) I'm going to start working on the two I mentioned in this post, thanks for the tip about DC I may contact them and try to integrate their elder council mod for part of the political aspects.

Now this i like!

I've downloaded a couple of mods that offered similar things (Big Business, cutthroat merchants etc) but none of them had that real strategy feel to it. i freely admit to liking this type of aspect (i love those tycoon games! except prison tycoon. not once could you execute prisoners in a suppoosedly maximum security prison - clearly they were bad guys!)

Whilst i may not be able to mod feel free to use me as an idea bouncing post! i'll only be too glad to help!!

Zephyr Kronos

To give it really new fresh spin to thing, base this mod on the political ideas, and economics of the 18 century. The real start of the Industrial Revolution. Modern manufacturing began with steam engines replacing animal labor. The 18th century saw the widespread replacement of manual labor by new inventions and machinery. The 18th century saw the spread of capitalism and the increased availability of printed materials. The age of the Tall ship and global trade ( really Total War Empires might be a good place to start with)

The end of the 3rd era, has planted the seeds for an "Age of Enlightenment". Period characterized by a change away from traditional religious sources of authority, and a move towards science and rational thought. The effects of this enlightenment could led to a Revolutionary movement. The mage guild might be a little lost in this time wanting to crush the now radical ideals. Some Merchants and those in the political arena have came to embrace these idea and hoping to lead Cyrodiil into a new age. Out with dogmatic Imperials, in with an old idea long forgotten in the pages of time a "Republic"
