Questions about Anniversary Edition

So I've had my Special Edition set to not update ever since 2021, but I'm looking into making a new build for the first time in ages and I want to know some things about Anniversary Edition to see if I want to try it. It's surprisingly hard to find some of this information. First off, all of my Special Edition stuff is backed up multiple times over (unless there's more than the game folder, my games folder and my MO2 folder, if there is tell me), and my SE is running out of a different folder than the Steam install so I won't lose my current build if I update.

1) What's still broken? I don't know the details but it was my impression that certain things running SKSE would break, and there are still a decent chunk of large-scale mods that haven't been updated since before anniversary.

2) How many plugins are there? I want to be clear here because every time I google this I get nothing but the plugin limit, which I already know is 255. What I want to know is how many new plugins does AE come with so I know how much harder it will be to stay below the limit. I know a lot of the CC stuff is ESL which is very helpful but a lot is still ESPs so I'd love an actual count before I upgrade.

3) Do patches for pre-existing CC content work with Anniversary or are the Anniversary Edition versions of the CC plugins different? Also generally how good is the community support for patching conflicts with AE content, or is there even that many issues to patch?

Nothing is broken, to my knowledge. I run the most current Anniversary Bundle (Skyrim SE 1.6.4 + all DLC + all CC), with SKSE64, USSEP, USCCCP and SkyUI; and a plethora of other mods, some from Nexus, some for Bethnet and some of my own creation.

Just make sure you get the current version of any and all mods and you should be fine.

Just in case anyone stumbles across this thread in a google search trying to find the answer to my second question: Anniversary Edition comes with 79 total plugins, but only 15 of those are ESPs or ESMs with the remaining 64 being ESLs. So overall it's a pretty manageable amount. You're welcome hypothetical future person who probably doesn't exist!
