  1. Ever notice how the most innocuous post gets downvoted and wonder "Now why did THAT get down votes?" It's the Internet Hate Mob. Here is how they work. Post or comment something someone doesn't like, or say something nice about someone which the Internet Hate Mob loves to hate, or just disagree with someone. The folks (read members of the Internet Hate Mob) who feel inclined will launch your profile and "follow you" so they get notified whenever you post again. After receiving the notification, they go to the post/comment and down vote it. No reason, no reading, just you posted something and they down vote it out of spite or hatred. And they never stop. Further, once they are following you, disabling followers doesn't help. You're already on their list. And it gets worse. I found this practice documented on r/SkyrimMods almost a decade ago. It was shared to help people harass a particular mod author which the Internet Hate Mob (even the Internet Hate Mob members here on NexusMods) love to hate. So the practice seems to be encouraged my the moderators of some subreddits. Ain't that just the nicest thing? The ONLY viable solution is to just walk away. Don't delete the account, just give reddit the big wiggly waggly middle finger and turn our back to them. And people wonder why mod makers don't like "non curated" mod rating systems. The same system used by the Internet Hate Mob on Reddit for bulk down votes would work on NexusMods. And "the reddit" system is exactly what the vociferous Internet Hate Mob wants on NexusMods as a way to harass mod makers they don't like. EDIT: the Internet Hate Mob does this same thing to YouTube channels, and any "social media" platform with anonymous voting. Facebook, Twitter, etc are not immune from the Internet Hate Mob.
  2. I like rain ... ... the scent it imparts as it moistens the earth and quenches the grounds thirst. ... the sound it makes on a metal roof. ... the rainbows it brings as the sun passes through the drops. ... the cool feeling it produces as it runs down my neck and back. ... the taste of the rain as it falls onto my protruding tongue. I like the rain. A joy to the senses.
  3. I like the predawn silence before the birds awaken to greet the rising sun; that ten to fifteen minutes of absolute stillness of anticipation before the first tentative chirps and warbles which leads to a cacophony of birdsong. I like the first thirty minutes after sunrise, when every bird in the neighborhood is loudly chirping, warbling, whistling, tweeting and singing; boisterously proclaiming their joie de vivre. I like every new day.
  4. From my granddaughter ... Money found in coat pockets, priceless.
  5. "Politics can't raise the Colorado River." - from a debate on allocating the dwindling water resources of the Colorado River and Hoover and Glen Canyon Dams. From that same debate: "Ridiculing scientists won't stop climate change." "Climate change affects the entire watershed." "Looking away doesn't make ugliness disappear." "Denying science doesn't change our reality." "It's simple, no precipitation, no river." "Too much demand, not enough water." "Water crops and people get thirsty." "More drinking water means crops die." "Choose both and nobody is satisfied." "It's about water, not election winners." - I substituted election winners for an individual's name. "More money won't make it rain." "Definitive, decisive and immediate action required." "Procrastination just makes the problem worse."
  6. Supposedly, humans can think; but don't.
  7. Life is uncertain, eat dessert first.
  8. Life's simple, take the scenic route.
  9. Walk slowly. Sniff flowers. Life's short.
  10. When planning a parade, put the equestrian units at the end, and the elephants last.
  11. When was this change implemented? Early on, the way to remediate login issues when logging into NexusMods was to log into the Forums and launch NexusMods from there. This created an instance of fully logged in NexusMods.
  12. Clicking the NexusMods Logo (Upper Left) Launches NexusMods, but the login credentials are not transferred, forcing one to login a second time. NexusMods Logo
  13. “One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.” ― Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark
  14. I found a burble blade. When standing in water, when swimming or even when sitting is a shallow pool, holing this sword aloft will make bubbles appear behind the wielder.
  15. Who needs nuclear weapons in space when all you need to do is throw really big rocks down the gravity well.
