dermond
Any new NPCs I create have a caucasian body. After banging my head against the wall for most of last night trying to figure out why all my new NPCs had caucasian bodies regardless of race, I've come to the conclusion that it's nothing in the NPC editor that's causing the problem. Let me run you through a basic workflow to replicate this problem I'm having. 1) Open GECK, load master file.2) Locate African American Female NPC 'Red'3) Duplicate 'Red' (change her name to 'White', create new form)4) Save Plugin as 'White.esp' Simple, right? I should now have an NPC named White who is a perfect clone of the NPC named red. Upon loading the preview for "White" I see that she has a white body. In-game proves to show the same thing: Load Fallout 3 with White.esp.open console.player.placeatme 1000EA6 (this is White)player.placeatme 25251 (this is Red) And Voila. I have Red. She looks Fine. And now I have White, who has Red's African face, but with a Caucasian body. Any thoughts?
muppetsoup
Try adding the line bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1 to your fallout.ini under the [General] section.
dermond
Try adding the line bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1 to your fallout.ini under the [General] section. It's in there. I should have mentioned that. Also, every time I've seen that come up it's been the opposite: Caucasian Faces/Proper Bodies, not Proper Faces/Caucasian Bodies. Either way, it isn't fixing this. Yossarian22
Your File must be a Master (ESM) to make that work.Create a Master out of your ESP via FOMM and thencheck your NPC ingame again. In GECK its still white, but it has the right colors ingame.

In GECK its still white, but it has the right colors ingame. Let me check that and report back. Seriously though, is that a known issue? A bug? A limitation? NPCs can only be different races if you turn your ESP into an ESM file? Sounds silly.
dermond
Worked like a charm. Was this solution truly like Modding 101? I couldn't seem to come up with the right combination of search keywords to find an answer anywhere yet Yossarian22 knew it like it was entry level. Deleted1084753User
It's the sort of thing you find out by accident while doing something else. Convert mod to esm so your plugins can override it and.... hello, suddenly something works that wasn't before. Trial and error and all that :)

Yeah well, I discovered that on my own, coz dimon asked me to find a solution for that problem, so I did :biggrin:I got the Idea by comparing The Pitt and MMM Custom Races. The only difference to my own race was the ESM. Your Issue btw is not about custom races, but generel NPCs and thats something that is only since 1-5 that way.
