Game unplayable - which mods do cause the error?

I have a very bad issue. My game has become nearly unplayable. Whenever it's running longer than 5 minutes it will crash to desktop.

Also, whenever i come near some special positions (for example Dragonbridge, Solitude entry or Fort Amol) it will crash also.

Even when I try to loot animals or bandits the game immediately crashes.

I also can't save or fast travel anymore.

Last - when I try to end the game regularly it gives me a C++ run-time error, resulting in a freezing PC and a Blue Screen of Death.

 

 

I've now tried several weeks to solve this s*** but can't figure out what the problem is. I also tried other savegames with less crash but all in all similar problems.

 

I've got a heavily modded game (something in between 220 and 250 mods installed) and coulnd't figure out which one/ones is/are the source of this issue. he only working solution so far was to remove about 150 mods, in there such popular things like the SkyMoMod, SkyTest, Immersive Weapons, Immersive Armors and Helgen Reborn. But seriously - is that the only way?

 

 

So I desperately need your help. Is there anything out there which could at least give me an error report so that I could see which data are causing these problems?

 

All mods have been cleaned with TesVEdit, I even made bashed files to ensure the most possible compability, still with no change. So - please - if anyone could help me, that would be much appreciated :sad:

Uh no, run BOSS then copy paste the log (That's what, 10 secs?). Remember to put it in Spoiler tags.

 

Also you can run Skyrim Performance Monitor. I just realized, with that many mods, it would probably be easy to hit the 3.1GB hard RAM limit for Skyrim. Once you go over that it's an automatic CTD anyway.

Yes, they're serious. You can get your load order out of NMM, Wrye Bash or simply by copying the relevant lines out of your ini :rolleyes:

 

That said, you're not knowing how to do that suggests to me that you've been either 'hot swapping' mods (putting mods in and out of your load order without testing or properly cleaning your saves) or that you've been playing all 200+ mods without checking for compatibility or running BOSS. So the following is standard trouble shooting for mod issues not pinned to a single mod (this is why you test every single mod in your install as you go, individually and with all your other mods - to pinpoint problems at the mod from the very beginning).

• First - have you verified your game files through steam and updated to the latest patch?
• Second - uncheck all your mods, start a new game, save after Helgen. This will be your 'tester save.' Do Not Overwrite or Delete this save.
• Third - Check five mods.
• Four - Go into game with your tester save. Run from one end of the game world to the other. Go into a few cities. Interact with a few things that are mod related. See if anything crashes.
• Five - No crashes? Repeat 3-5. It crashed or something's not right? Go to step 6.
• Six - something crashed? uncheck one of the five mods then go back to your tester save, repeat step 4.

Continue until you have found and fixed all crashing and freezing errors.

 

Once you have a clean save you can use it to test all new mods quickly and efficiently. Save often. Do not overwrite your saves unless you're sure the new save will work - that is how you make a backup. Download and learn to use Wrye Bash, it will allow you to see what mods your saves depend on and quickly reload just those mods necessary as well as a lot of other important save cleaning functions.

If you have NMM you can export your mods and load order to a text file and post that. However, it sounds to me like you have more high resolution textures trying to load than your video card can handle.

Yes, I don't know BOSS so I wasn't using it until now but I have already a clean save in which all my mods worked properly and without any problems together.

 

I would have been able to sort the problem out if it was that easy.

Well on first glance, you're having a load order problem, which is why you are crashing. Have BOSS sort the order.

Well after days of testing and changeing the load order several times, I still get the same results.

It just didn't bring anything -.-

 

Looks, like the savegame is completely broken.
