Lucidx
Ok, I just finished the main story of 'Broken steel' and I'm inside of megaton.I had 'FOWE' Fallout Winter Edition installed and I deleted it while i was inside of megaton.I leaved megaton and talked to the people who were arguing about aqua pura outside. then I reentered megaton and the game crashed, I tryed it 2 more times and the same thing happens.I fast traveled into megaton when I was outside the gate and it worked, but when I tryed to EXIT megaton the game crashes. I dont know yet if this happens for every door, does anyone know how to fix this???I have the latest patch (i think) and all the official DLC's. Could my recent uninstallation of FOWE have caused this problem?

Could my recent uninstallation of FOWE have caused this problem? Are you playing on a PC with Vista, XP, XP Pro; SP1, SP2, or SP3?Have you played the game with the GFW LIVE account turned on or are you playing the game in the standard mode? Open your Documents folder, look in the My Games folder\Fallout 3 folder, and see if you have a FalloutPrefs.ini visible, and than click on the Saves folder for GFW LIVE and see if it has another copy of FalloutPrefs.ini. I have both and I have changed the bSaveOnInteriorExteriorSwitch=1 to =0. It allows me to get through the doors at Megaton without crashes. There is another bSaveOnTravel=1 I thought it was the one for going through doors, gates, metro entrances. Until I saw these files I did not know the bSaveOnInteriorExteriorSwitch=1 existed. It does not show up in settings as a selection to turn on or off.
overload1977
this is mods making your game crash i found this out the hard way post your mods and let me have a look :) or try getting foedit and use FO3MasterUpdate that may fit it here >>>> http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=637 t's really quite simple. 1. Patch to 1.5. 2. Run FOMM and set up your load order again (the patch will have altered fallout3.esm and put it after your DLCs, just put it back on top where it belongs). Close FOMM. 3. make a copy of fo3edit.exe and rename it to fo3masterupdate.exe and run it. and If you get errors, run FOMM again and disable the mod that errored out and then try the master update again. this update changes all your esp to esm this works somehow lol
Deleted54170User
Hey! Overload1977. No offense, but has it occurred to you what is going on here yet? Here's something that you might want to do. Divide up your library into categories for each machine so I can see all you have for PC Vista in one space. Or have you got a page with a single link in the context so I can click on it and go directly to PC with Viata information only already?
Lucidx
Argh, I figured out what it was.I'm working on a megaton house overhall and I must have acidentally edited the propertys of the megaton gate because when I looked at it in the geck, everything was messed up. The Interior 'door' marker thingy (yellow thing that transports you to a diffrent cell) was missing like half of its propertys.
Deleted54170User
I'm glad you found an answer. I suspect the bSaveOnInteriorExteriorswitch=1 turned off would only have served as a useful trick for working in the GECK or other ideas.
