Can't use Any type of Smithing stations or crafting stations.

Basically, when I try to press E and use a Forge, Anvil, Tanning Rack, Workbench, Alchemy Table or Enchanting Table, my character moves to the front of the station, doesn't do anything and stands there for about 5 seconds. Then the game just returns to normal, except I can't go in or out of third person unless I go into a menu or minimise the game.

 

I've tried loading earlier saves and I wouldn't like to do a fresh install in case my mods or saves are lost (if that even happens, i'm not sure if it does)

 

Can anybody help me with this? It would be greatly appreciated!

jimmy use the console command tai on your player this fixed my problem

I'm having a problem with this too. I see many places where people are complaining about minor varients of this problem, and very few suggested solutions.

 

My varient has me going into the menu for using the station, then coming right back out of it before I can do anything, and then drawing my weapon. Even if I had no weapons equipped!

 

I also have tried "tai" , and I've gone through my MCM menu and cleaned or restarted or turned off all the mods with animations that give me the option to do so. Still no luck.

 

I keep hearing about certain mods that are more likely to cause this problem, but I don't have any of the mods that I've heard listed for that yet.

 

What's really making me nuts about this is that one of my characters has the problem, but my other two do not. And... I already tried going back to an earlier save, but since I don't use craft stations very often with this character, none of my saves were far enough back to be before whenever the problem started.

I've joined the group with this issue! Anybody found a fix yet? I can;t use any craft station except the forge, Just stand right back up out of the crafting menu. I tried the unblock utility, no dice.

 

Edit: After spending almost a week trying to fix this, It wet away. I did a full reinstall of every mod I had, re-installed SKSE and FNIS for good measure. No idea what was causing it but it is working now. Best of luck to the next person to get this bug

The player TAI fix solved it for me..

 

It happened from the start of my play, using Alternate Start, Live another life along with the death alternative with its capture path and the capture patch addon that lets you use those capture scenarios to start your game from (escaping the thalmor when they were about to exectue me and having to try to survive from there with no gear was a fun begining)

 

So it might work for others..

 

Just being thorough.. Anyoen who mods much likely knows the suggestions below but just to be thurough heres some suggestions..

 

 

If you have trouble with TAI i made sure i was standing away from any npc's and clickec myself with the console command window up. then typed tai.. just incase someone was using player.tai or some other method.. if you use the click method I suggest being sure you're clear of npc's just to be sure..

The Tai console command worked for me,so far. I have some of the mods mentioned,but not all of them. Defeat and death alternative just to name two. I had tried disabling and deleting several mods just to get the number down . I tried the steps mentioned above,namely: switching weapons, trying to interrupt someone using the forge,it just got some bad looks from the forgemaster. But,yeah...TAI worked on three characters so far.

Thanks for the info,I had never used that command and didn't know what it did. It said,"turning on processing for(name of character)" in the console.

So,Kudos and thanks. back to the game :)

When ever I activate a crafting station, or an animated lever like at a mill, my character starts to go into the station, but after about .5 seconds, I'm kicked out and my character stands frozen in front of the station and I have to reload use console commands to move. I can use forges for some reason. Here's my load order (done manually) if anything is wrong. (Some mods such as Cedric, Delcan, and Arysse are follower mods made by me that are not on the Nexus. They are just simple followers.) Please help me! :)

So i dont normally reply to these sorta things, but since i just recently had issues with 1 of the files in your load order i feel i should mention that the AldmeriDominionStrengthened.esp is pretty buggy in its own right. tho in this case it would appear to be less of a bug an more of a case of an activator getting overwritten. loot isnt really gonna help you much,tho i believe sommerset isles will/ need dawnguard as a master and while not all your esm's will need to be by the top of your load-order rschildren should probably go before any mods that adjust your towns and world space. im not using Sommerset atm but then i do recall making a patch between it and all my jk towns and such with xEdit
