freebornjohn
I am running FO3 GOTY edition through Steam. I have downloaded NMM and installed it and then downloaded a few graphics mods from Nexus using the 'download with manager' option. Once downloaded I have gone to the Mods tab and activated them correctly. A green tick now shows by each one and I got the message that the mods had been activated. However the mods do not show up in game and are not on the data files menu when I start the game. Is this an issue with NMM or am I better off using FOMM instead? BlackRampage
Many Fo3 mods were released long before the NMM even existed and have therefore never been made compatible with NMM. If it's just texture mods you're trying to install, (You didn't specify, buy I'm guessing that's what you're referring to with "graphics mods"?) it's quite easy to install them manually though. It's just a copy & paste procedure. Most texture mods also come without a plugin file. Therefore you won't see them in the data files menu. Still, it is very much advised to read the readme/description page for installation instructions. Don't bother with the "data files" menu on the vanilla game launcher btw. It has the potential to seriously mess up your load order. Just launch the game and sort your plugins through a mod manager. That's what it's for. freebornjohn
Thanks for the reply. I have installed Mods on many previous occasions for other games so I am familiar with the manual method. I decided to install the mods manually only to notice that the mods have been installed after all. They just did not kick in in the area where I had saved my game. A few minutes journey from the last save point it was clear that they were working. So NMM does work and it did save me quite a bit of time. Thanks for the advice on plugins and the data file manager.
