1.5 patch is bananas

Recommended Posts

After installing the 1.5 patch so I could play the broken steel DLC, I have had nothing but constant crashes, I tried the fake patch first but couldn't get past the infirmary part because I couldn't move or anything. So I installed the patch and now the game is quite literally unplayable, I have dozens of mods and I'm not really willing to give up any of them. So my question is this, how can I revert back to the previous patch without losing all my stuff? I was told to reinstall the game and apply the previous patch, but in order to not lose my mods would I have to create a copy of my data folder? And if so, wouldn't the files from the 1.5 patch also be copied? help please!

To play BS with 1.0.0.15 patch (and fakepatch), you need a broken steel patch that's floating somewhere around the nexus. There can't be too many mods with broken steel on the name so it should be easy to find (it's that, or something around the lines of "remap water type").

When you uninstall the game, no mods are deleted.

To play with mods and 1.5 patch, you need fo3edit, and to use fo3edit's masterupdate feature. Read it's readme for details.

using 1.5 patch with FO3edit's MasterUpdate feature works completely fine. It also fixes the busted Perks and the VATs Lag...kinda. I heard Fake Patch doesn't work that well with BS. Though I never tried it. But I can guareentee you that 1.5 + MasterUpdate works perfectly because I use it and I have a poo load of mods loaded.

I too have a "poo" load of mods and FO3Edit has stopped any crashing I have. I would recommend it over the "fake patch" as that did not solve it for me. But either may work...varying results I've heard.
