Vortex download speed goes up and down

Hello there.

My issue is that my download speed just abruptly decreseas, and the download stops for some seconds, or until I pause it and resume it.

This overall slows down my downloads horribly.

Following is all the data you should need from the Vortex Speed Test extension, I should've also attached a screenshot displaying the behaviour of my download speed.

This happens only with Vortex and not with Steam nor Epic Store etc.

Country: Italy

Internet Service Provider (ISP): Telecom

CDN Test: 6.1MB/s

Average Download Speed (non-Nexus downloads): 7MB/s

Download Tests:

  • US - Chicago: 4.2MB/s (Best)

  • US - Miami: 3.6MB/s (Medium)

  • EU - Prague: 2.5MB/s (Medium)

  • Worldwide - Premium CDN: 2.4MB/s (Medium)

  • US - Los Angeles: 1.7MB/s (Low)

  • EU - Amsterdam: 1.1MB/s (Low)

Looks at your results, changing your default server to Chicago would give you the best speed.

Unfortunately the reliability is very likely to be a problem at your ISP. You can report a fault to them or try a VPN to see if your connection quality improves.
