Grass not loading in my game

I encountered a strange problem after uninstalling Desperados Overhaul to try out Vulkan landscapes. Grass won't show up in my game except a few small patches and on cliffs. The land is barren save for trees and plants (no grass!). I tried disabling all my mods and even uninstalling and reinstalling Fallout 4. I'm at a loss of what to do here. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you follow the installation steps mentioned?

Are you aware it modifies (& removes a lot of) the grass textures?

& that it requires 'true grass' to be installed? (did you install it?)

 

Are you using the pyroclast addon? (which deletes almost all grass ...)

check if ini settings for grass are ok or if any parameter is faulty or non standard (unintentional type error for example)

check if any mod loads its own ini file with faulty grass settings

compare with step settings

always make a backup of your setup before you fiddle with "overhauls"
