CrazyGilbert
normallt my Construction set is fast and lets me do things at a fast speesand allowing me to rotate and stuff quickly but on my rice mod when I was adding the rice is slowed down there where the rice was (like I mean a really slow down it started to lag and have like freezing pauses and shi*) i cant stand it. I buy a 1000 dollar computer and It does this? does anybody know why its acting like an arse all the sudden?
Wookiee
i would say virus, worm, adware, or windows each are detrimental to your computers performance
CrazyGilbert
acuallyI deleted all of the rice things and it sped up in that cell.....
Wookiee
in that case you have to much info in the cell :) morrowinds engin is far from optimised and has manny short comings the least of which is bad aplication of alpha transperancys and if you are using a custom rice model (i expect a few planes with rice textures and a transperancy layer) then it will bog down quickly... funny as it may seem try rendering the rice as a 3d object with no transperancys (not to detaild of cource) and see how that goes if this is the way you are doing it then... try and find a way to cut back at minamal visual loss (eg make a rice paddy that is one big square of the rice paddy with intersecting textures eg X - X - X| \ | / |X - X - X| / | \ |X - X - X where the "X"s are the rice and the lines represent single planes of textures with 3 seperate rice textures on them and transperancy's in between that way doing it like this you get 9 rice bunches (whatever you call them) for 8 planes if you used 2 planes for each you would be at 18 planes by now and only 4 of the stalks/bunches have 2 planes in this configuration the others have more making them more detaild (in theory) if you wanted to add one flat plane to see from the top this brings the total number of planes to 9 for 9 and 3 on the least of them ... using 3 per indavidual will yeald you 27 seperate planes for 9 see how the polly count risses substantualy as well :) another benafit is that placing them down will be much less time consuming :) if you did it this way then... well im out of idea's :) PS sorry about the ascii art if it doesent make any sence :)
Luthiel_Dragonsoul
does this happen, when any new textures or meshes are added? luthiel
CrazyGilbert
It wasnt a new mesh/ texture I was using saltrice models. I was doing the "Make a row" copy paste, paste, past, past method to consume less time. -CG
Adras
If you're doing it in an exterior cell (which I'm guessing you are), try turning down the view distance so your computer isnt geting a bunch 'o objects that dont even have to do with your mod. Luthiel_Dragonsoul
oh i see now, i had this misconstrued i thought this was due to slow pc speed, but i guess it actually has to do with the cs luthiel PS adras is your sig from eragon the language of power?
