metal2core
I have an idea for a mod that I think would be bad ass. I'm all about realism in rpgs, and oblivion does that pretty well. But, the one thing that still bugs me about this game is you can stay awake for years without ever suffering for it. Also, you don't need to eat. Ever. So, my idea would be this. Add two new bars to the game along with the regulars (health, magika, fatigue) These bars would need to be like 3x bigger than the regulars. One is for daily energy, the other for Hunger. Both bars have an effect on how your character plays. As when we get hungry, we might get grumpy, and weaker. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The hunger bar would be simply a bar with 2 colors. Left indicating hungry, and right indicating full. Obviously, the full bar would be the side to be on, when you're full you're at maximum energy. When you're hungry, you're not. This bar gradually decreases at a faster speed than the energy bar. The higher your endurance the longer you can go without food. It will decrease according to the endurance the player has. If you were to wait untill full and eat, the timing for the bar would hit full about 6 times a day. A really high level of endurance can mean your character only needs to eat once every few days. If your hunger bar hits hungry, you loose 5 points in ALL of your stats excluding luck. Once in the red zone (hungry zone) your daily energy will start to drop 5% faster than before, forcing you to find some food. Veggys, breads, and anything that's not meat can be eaten raw. Meat must be cooked. If you need to eat and don't have a means to a fire, than you can eat it, but you might get a disease. Foods will add X to the energy bar Veggys - 5%-9% increase energy -- 25% increase in hunger (quater full)Breads/Grains - 10%-19% increase energy -- 50% in hunger bar (half full)Meats - 20%-50% increase energy -- 100% in hunger bar (instant full) If you want to cook meat, you walk up to ANY fire and click your action button. Than you'll have a menu pop up showing all of your food that can be cooked. You click on the food, and click accept. Now you have cooked food. Cooking certain foods could add benefits to the food. And hell, maybe if you wanted you can even make cooking a skill that can increase as you prepare food and make it to where the better you have the skill, the more the food will increase your energy. But I digress. If you're in the field, you can start a fire with a firekit. It's basically a kit that would make a camp fire. It could be a spell that summons a campfire or something. When you're in the field, and you're all tired from travel, you make a camp. So now that we know what the hunger bar would be. Now for the energy bar. This bar has 3 levels of energy. Green - Fully energized, max stats. Yellow - Half energized, -5 Strength, -5 Endurance, -5 SpeedRed - Exhausted - 10 Strength, -10 Endurance, -5 Speed (food will not raise any energy when you're in red. Empty - 20 all stats (STR and END would have suffered -35 total so far) You'll pass out in the middle of whatever you're doing and your stats might incur perminant deductions. As for setting up camps. If you sleep anywhere in the field, your health, magicka and endurance bar will only increase up to 50%You can buy two things to better that situation. 1. Sleeping bag - Increases up to 75% of energy and health, magicka, and endurance 1500 Gold2. Tent - Increases 100% (must have a sleeping bag to use) 3500 Gold this is a one time buy for each. Now you can sleep in the field comfortably. Your sleeping bag and tent would just be a combined item in your bag that you click and it summons the tent with the sleeping bag in front of you. It could have a chair outside of it too so you can make a fire next to your tent. I think this would add some depth and realism to the game and I would definitely love to see it made.
