ZanyScum
I am playing a stable Skyrim installation.I just installed https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/76130 (Leave Combat). Now Vortex gives me an error about mods which I have been using successfully for years. It tells me, these mods are not for Skyrim but for Oblivion. I am not going to manually copy that dialog which is HUGE. Please have a look at the attached image. Just keep in mind:1. These mentioned mods are working fine since years.2. I did NOT update these mods recently.3. The error came the second I enabled above mentioned mod "Leave Combat", which - of course - is not a problem with that mod, but with Vortex. ---------- EDIT --------------Restarting Vortex fixed the issue. Druuler
I watch a number of Fallout 3 mods, and in the past few months there have been Vortex users mentioning the same thing about some of those older FO3 mods. Very strange.
jaydawg55
The Fallout 3 issues could be related to Microsoft buying Bethesda Game Studios. Changes were made to how some Bethesda games are compiled after that. The changes were made for compatibility with newer generation Xboxes (if I recall correctly). This can make some older mods incompatible. It has been pretty annoying to Skyrim mod users.
Solution AugustaCalidia Posted April 10, 2023 Solution Share Posted April 10, 2023 (edited) This warning occurs when Vortex detects incorrect BSA versioning for mods used in Fallout 3, Fallout NV, the two Skyrims, and/or Fallout 4. It is not an error. Rather the warning arises from the fact that some mod authors, in creating mods for the aforementioned games, possibly used the wrong tools when packaging their BSAs. Vortex is simply reporting this discrepancy and suggesting a course of action should there be problems such as the game crashing on load. The following article explains: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Bethesda_mod_archives I myself have experienced this "incompatibility" most often with some Fallout 4 mods, but less so with Fallout NV and Skyrim mods. In all cases, the so-called "Oblivion" BSAs were not incompatible at all. After a couple of warnings, Vortex ceased the alert.
