SSE first time creating any sort of mod, dark shadows on the CC daedric plate armor

today i took the plunge into creating my own mods, starting with outfit studio to customize an armor to my liking. specifically, i removed the large daedric pauldron that sat on the left shoulder. i did this through using Dragoon23's guides on youtube. i successfully removed the shoulder plate and it is functional in-game, however, there's a large dark shadow where the pauldron used to be. its present in both outfitstudio and in-game. i'm assuming its part of the chestplate's texture but i have no idea how to go about changing it. i could use a lot of guidance.

What is the original mod? Frankly, it looks like part of the pauldron mesh is still there. This will likely need to be exported to Blender and separated there.
