Janine_fallout3
Hi everyone, I'm currently making a Dark Brotherhood mod. I don't use the internet much, and don't have time to go to an internet cafe and spend money all the time studying on current Dark Brotherhood mods, I'm just posting here as I need some opinions from all of you who enjoyed the Dark Brotherhood questline like I have, and have had experience playing the Dark Brotherhood mods that other people have released. Due to not being able to study up on / download any Dark Brotherhood mods (as explained), I don't want to create exactly-the-same stuff others have, or make the same mistakes modders have either which could have made their mods not as good as people were hoping, this is where your opinions are all important toward helping me create a decent, original, and fun mod. Anyway, cutting to the point, my areas I do best in is level design, and story writing type stuff, so at some point I will be needing help from modders experienced in other areas. At this current point, I can give you a hint of what this mod will let you do: NEW DARK BROTHERHOOD OUTPOSTS-----You will be able to step foot into expanded Dark Brotherhood territory across Cyrodiil (New Outposts - as explained in the Dark Brotherhood storyline).-Each Outpost will have a unique touch, so it doesn't feel like every one you enter is the same old clone of the other.-Once you own an Outpost, you will be given tasks to do to set up the Outpost, giving you alternate things to do instead of just picking up 'Kill quests' over and over.* *This will be explained more, when I release an Outpost that I am completely happy enough with for you all to play with. Overall my idea is that this mod will be kept simple, so it's fun, and won't alienate players with wierd storylines or gameplay ideas that don't feel "Oblivion". Thanks for reading, I hope to get some replies, help, and feedback.

If your trying to do something different you will really have to work on the aspect of the character owning the outpost. In the vanilla Dark Brotherhood it said that the count of Cheydinhall received threats of death to ignore the assassins and there base of operations. You could make missions where you have to intimidate the local governing body and the guard, not simply by killing but making a stealth mission to leave evidence of your power. Don't know if you have seen the Godfather, but they left a horses head in a guys bed after he crossed him. A mission like that would be fun and in depth. hope that helps
scarb
That would be very enjoyable, and I would look forward to it (& even help as I am able or requested). Instead of just new safehouses (which, as mentioned, has been done), it would be great fun to help establish new safehouses (both the physical implementation as well as political). I would imagine there would need to be threats and bribes and perhaps even more in order to get the local governing body to "look the other way" or have virutally no inkling of the DB's presence at all. I would imagine there be other criminals or criminal organizations that would enter into play. They may need to be bribed, recruited, eliminated, used as contacts, etc, etc. Sounds like it has great potential.
