New to Skyrim modding, having trouble with two types of crashes at the

Hi guys! I'm new to modding Skyrim, but I think I've got a basic handle on it. I had originally been having issues with the game crashing when as soon as the game started. After messing around with BOSS and disabling some mods, I got the game loading and was able to play. I've gotten out of the keep, but now I'm having issues with two types of crashes outside.

The first is a black screen after I die and respawn. After the game finishes loading, I'm shown a black screen and the game freezes. The second always seems to happen when I'm walking alongside the river, usually when I start fighting some wolves. In this case, the game simply crashes to desktop. Not sure what the cause might be here, the river? The wolves? The spawning salmon?

And here's my PC's hardware, I don't think it's lacking in muscle since I am using the most powerful graphics card in existence :tongue:

 

CPU: Intel Core i7 980 Extreme six core (overclocked to 4.10GHz)
RAM: 12GB of DDRIII
Video: EVGA GTX 780Ti SuperClocked (overclocked to 1.136GHz)

 

Any clues guys? I'd love to be able to start playing Skyrim!

I really don't think it's a hardware problem. :)

 

I see a lot of mods that have the potential to overlap.... might be having some conflict issues there. Try disabling some of your duplicates. (weather mods, fauna....)

Yep, getting rid of Real Wildlife seems to have fixed the issue, no crashes so far! I also noticed I had two rain mods, so I removed Real Rain.

 

*EDIT* crashed to desktop just now, again when I was near a big river with a lot of waterfalls
