Magic items and cost

Im not sure if something like this exists or is easily done on my own, but I did a search and couldnt find anything on it, so here it is.

I like how the game I play introduces gradually better items as you play, level up, and take on tougher tasks/fights. I also like how the cost of those items is fair for my level, there is a gradual and rational increase in the cost of those items, and I can by no means become rich quick. Also, the game Ive set up makes having money important, but makes it difficult to acquire in masses.

That is until the introduction of the first magic items in quests and loot lists. Which leads me to what I DONT like.

What I DONT like is how I suddenly acquire a pretty crappy little fortify Health 10 amulet and suddenly I can pocket 2k gold or more if I dont need it. I find it to be unrealistic and very distracting from the immersion aspect. Even some magic items sold by merchants dont seem to make alot of sense in terms of cost for what you get out of them compared to other items that are cheaper, yet more usefull.

I still think magic items should be rare and worth more than the average item. But an unenchanted Glass Curaiss shouldnt be worth significantly less than a rusty iron cuaiss with a minor enchantment on it that isnt all that usefull anyways. One also shouldnt be able to suddenly go from rags to riches just because you find the occasional item with a minor enchantment.

So thats about it. Maybe theres a mod out there that lets me manipulate the costs of these items. Or maybe theres a mechanism already in place that Im not aware of. Or maybe someone with better modding skills than me likes the idea. Anyways, thanks for any help in advance.

I didnt read through the whole thing, but for me whenever i make an enchanted item in a mod no matter what i set the price out to be, the enchantment itself will increase the price. I personally dont know a way around this, and im sure if i spent some time in the CS lookin around i can find a way somehow to make things a little less.

Here is a better idea. Instead of making the prices of things go down, why not make the amount of money vendors have gradually go up? So even if you do have that crappy 2k item, then who the heck are you going to sell it to for anything more than 400g? or something along those lines.

If you are seriously unhappy with your money, try this console command.

Player.removeitem 0000000f 10000

I think you will find both solutions will do just fine.
