Essential Follower

Hello!

I want to make some of the vanilla followers essential and i wonder if i might run in to some trouble by doing that...

Just to change the NPCs in CK is very easy and i dont need any help on that, but what worries me is the fact that all followers have some sort of " death mecanism".

I mean that when a follower die you get a note about the death and the follower ends up in the mosoleum and you enharitage some gold.

Can you see any trouble with this?? If so i would be really happy if you could help me!!

Cheers// Anna

It is just an attached script that runs when an actor is dead. (WIDeadBodyCleanupScript) If actor never dies, so the script never runs. Unless there is a specific questline that requires an actor to die - i.e. advances quest stage upon their death - making them essential should be not an issue.

By the way, you might consider just installing a follower framework, such as NFF or AFT or EFF. Pretty much all of those allow you to control all follower aspects, including essential flags.

OK, interesting! I will check that out for sure!

My thougts on this was that i wanted to keep it real simple and if what you say is true, about the script, i should really be safe changing to essential.

Thank you so much for helping and beeing generous with your thoughts and experience!!!!
