some people program in things to look for -1 as an end state

 

eg

 

the chargenstate variable is finished when it is at -1 and then you can save your game untill then it wont let you do this :) give it a try :)

The reason for this being that you'll never have a -1 as a value, if you're actually using a value for that variable instead of a "skip this" condition. A 0 or extremely large number are valid burn lengths (granted, a million hour burn time would be as good as permanent). But the burn time will never be a negative number, if the time limit is being used. So -1 is a safe number to set aside as "infinite" without any unintended consequences.
