CrazyGilbert
to make a candle never run out on the time form do I write 0 or 100000000000000000000000000000000000 I`m not sure which one makes it unlimated
Abramul
I would figure -1...there are lights that will go out as soon as you equip them, so 0 is probably not what you want.
CrazyGilbert
1? would`nt that be one second?
Wookiee
no i think he means "-1" as in negative :) not sure if it works cant remember
Luthiel_Dragonsoul
why negative one, if i am going by gilberts theory, 1 = 1 second then wouldnt -1 = -1 seconds, so the candle would be out before you equip it? luthiel
Wookiee
some people program in things to look for -1 as an end state eg the chargenstate variable is finished when it is at -1 and then you can save your game untill then it wont let you do this :) give it a try :)
Peregrine
The reason for this being that you'll never have a -1 as a value, if you're actually using a value for that variable instead of a "skip this" condition. A 0 or extremely large number are valid burn lengths (granted, a million hour burn time would be as good as permanent). But the burn time will never be a negative number, if the time limit is being used. So -1 is a safe number to set aside as "infinite" without any unintended consequences.
