Placing an item on the loot list

Howdy....

I'm (rather new to this) trying to use Meos Ayleid Clutter resource and add the items to the chests and enemies that can be found with various types of loot. (I thought it would be more fun to collect the items this way rather than just stick em directly into my house)

I have poured over various tutorials trying to find the answer to my problem with no luck...still, I think it should be a fairly simple fix once I understand it. So....;

1. How to I get an already existing object outside of Oblivion into Oblivion using the construction set?

2. How do I then add the item to the loot list?

I beleive that the resource is complete and doesn't need any further work. The link is here: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20644

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :thanks:

You need to place the nif files and textures in the correct folders in your Bethesda Data folders, You should be able to tell where when you open the resource.

In the CS, the list on the left will be where you start. Depending on where you placed the folders in your Data file. Navagate to the correct folder and right click in the second list. (The list to the right of the first one) From the list of options choose new. In the new window, navigate to the nif file and choose it. Click OK and the new item is created. Drag and drop it into the render window and place it where you want it.

If by adding something to the loot list you mean, making it so that you can steal the item, just assign ownership. Anything that is owned by an NPC will be considered stolen if you take it.

Thanks for the information! That definately answers question number one.

As far as putting them on an NPC goes...well, what I was hoping to accomplish is having the items show up in respawning chests in caves, on bandits that respawn, and whatever other places that grab random "loot" from an internal list of objects. That way I don't know where they are going to be.....

If there is a way to do that, that is. The Oblivion UESP Wiki calls it the Random Items List. (Link here) http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Leveled_...ndom_Item_Lists

Unfortunately I haven't found a way to access it, and at the moment, the only thing I have modded are a couple of enchanted weapons.
