Seiken Densetsu III

I've considered it... but never got around to getting it. Isn't it for the PSX, or PS2 or something? Is there an actual europian release of it?

I played a little of Seiken Densetsu II after a chinese friend of mine kept raving about it and gave me a copy, unfortunately I didn't really get the chance to get fully into it as it was a shoddy copy and really weird stuff started happening when fighting the first boss... and as far as I know it was never given a UK release, maybe not even a US release.

I played a small amount of the first Secret of Mana, say a few hours or so, but the battle system got a little bit obnoxious after a while, not to mention insanely difficult in places, and I just lost interest in the end.

It is for the SNES. It wasnt released in the US or Europe. It is a really great game and I didnt find it NEARLY as hard as Secret of Mana. Check it out on an emulator, and tell me how you like it.

heres a link to a site offering a good english translation.

Emuasylum

As an alternative, try Emureactor but im not sure if they have this or not. (too lazy to check). I know emuasylum does though.

you may have to join their forums, but no junk mail, and no trojans, no major pop ups, and you dont pay anything. Both of these are awesome for emualtion junkies like me. For emulators (if you dont have) get snes9xw. Some would recommend zsnes, but i dont find it windows friendly.

---- and now a review ----

This was an awesome game, and for those who played secret of mana, or secret of evermore, this is infinitely superior. A total winner. 10/10

With 3 main storylines based on what character you choose first, and 6 different character,s with different text throughout, this game has a lot of replay value as well... and a class system which is first noticed halfway through the game makes things even more replayable. with a total of 4 final classes for each character, you have a lot to try.

And the item system is superior to the limited inventorys of SOM... although i liked both.

Without a doubt, any rpg or mana fan has to play this game. theres a lot of plot to it, and i find it quite addictive.

Edit: BTW, Legend of mana was the one that was on psx. The only one i havent played... i think.

I was thinking of Suidoken II when I said about the one on the PSX. Got confused! I think I've probably played Seiken Densetsu III... but I'm not sure. If I have time I'll check it out :P

Crim I have to say I dont agree. ZSNES is the best snes emulator out there. It works perfectly fine with my windows and I havent had any problems with it. A good site for roms is www.rom-world.com You have to vote once a day to download a rom but its worth it.

..skull duggery but i cant let this pass

seiken detensu 3 would not be secret of mana 3 but 2 there never was a secret of mana 2 let alone 3

seiken detensu 1 is final fantasy mystic quest on the snes which was released in europe and the usa as well

secret of mana is seiken detensu 2 and the two games share very little other then the same developer

seiken detensu 3 predictibally never made it out of japan much like tales of phantasia orginally which ha sbeen re released on the gba

i played seiken 3 rbriefly and i liked little from what i saw

secret of mana is stil the best of the series out there

legend of mana is not worth it

heroes of mana is a ds game and a bloody strat rpg on top of that

as per usual these days the developers cling on tot he name of a great game but forget what made that game great

and there is no re release on the ds for secret of mana or seiken 3 in sight

typical
