can someone explain the difference between them etc, im not quite sure. From the descriptions other characters have given, the Hlaalu house seems decent but when i went to Vivec they were all real a**holes?! The telvanni sound sort of evil... if theres stuff/info i would find out later in the game plz dont spoil it for me - ide just like the basics on the houses and where they stand.

Hlaalu seem to be the real politicians, fill their pockets first, then care for someone else. Business comes before honor, and they make deals with everyone as long as they gain by it.

Telvanni have the 'might makes right' attitude, and seem to lack morals, which also becomes clear when you hear about the rules (murder is allowed since if you can beat someone then your point has to be superior than his etc)

Redoran care more for honor and tradition, and they maintain close ties with the empire and temple, however they are a bit stagnant due to that and do not seem to welcome change at all.

I picked Redoran but when I look back I don't think I want to have anything to do with any great house or faction at all, except perhaps the Ashlanders.

If you want to base your Great House on your own personal class:

Redoran: Combat (fighters)

Telvanni: Magic

Hlaalu: Stealth

The favorite skiils/attributes of each House reflect those categories.

Personally, I chose Redoran, and I think it was a good choice-- they're pretty honorable (out of all the factions, I think its the least corrupted...). Telvanni's cool if you want to be a wizard, and I if I could, I would choose that as a close second to Redoran. Hlaalu is good too, but not really my cup of tea.

There are MODs where you can join all the Great Houses, and there's a good one here at Morrowind Source... but you might not want to do that if you're a die0hard roll-player.

On the Ashlanders: they're not bad, and you'll find out about them later... they're just... misunderstood. :D

And being a goody-two-shoes isn't all bad either. I mean, you don't want to go around killing hapless peasants and important characters in the game, do you? But just don;t let it get in the way of your Morrowind experience.

Hope that helps.
