TheMastersSon
Hi all, I figured out a solution here after some effort and wanted to share for future generations. This might not work for very old Intel HD Graphics chipsets, but it seems to based on a post I found over at UESP forums. First, I installed the latest version of ENB for Oblivion along with the tweaks I wanted for it. Second, go to the oblivion shaders folder and backup ShaderPackage002.sdp, then replace it with a duplicate of ShaderPackage019.sdp (i.e. rename 019 to 002). My understanding is that this forces the use of a newer shader version. Finally, run with HDR enabled. This also fixes the lack of actor shadows that seemed to be a problem other people encountered with HD Graphics, which was what I was originally more concerned with. My laptop has an I7 with HD Graphics 4600, and I can run with decent settings @ 20+FPS. Can't handle depth of field unfortunately, at least not at 1080PThe above procedure forces shader model 3.0 in Oblivion, but omits a few required steps. First look at RendererInfo.txt (located in Oblivion's user/My Games folder, NOT the game's installation folder) and read the last line. The number listed is the one that needs to be swapped with shader package 19, which is the only SM3.0 package shipped with Oblivion. The second step is to check your Oblivion.ini file (again, the one in your user/My Games folder) to make sure bAllow30Shaders=1. Otherwise, the earlier directions are exactly correct: follow the same procedure to fool the game into reading package 19 as whatever number is listed in the last line of RendererInfo.txt. In our experience SM3.0 makes both a quality and performance difference, more the second of those than the first. Also note this forced workaround causes an error in Bethesda's official patches for Oblivion, so it's best to do it only after the game is patched to current version. It's not the end of the world if it doesn't happen, just rename the files back to what they were originally and updates run without a hitch. angkor
Had the same problem too after a W10 update, made a vid of it @ http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/videos/542 where bevilex suggested OR, I've updated OR to V5 and this fixed my HDR problem but I still have strange things happening with the textures in the editor, see http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/videos/
Winterfires
Had the very same problem (running the game on Intel HD 530) and the workaround by foreverfree123 and TheMastersSon fixed it. Thanks! So Bethesda makes a SE for Skyrim while there are real problems with previous games - I don't think they've realized how much they owe their success to the modding community. Sui131
OH THANK YOUI've been trying to fix that problem for two days, but for some reason I haven't tried actually turning HDR on after changing the shaders. Now I can play even without HDR. It seems like the game got used to it.thankyouthankyouthankyou
