UnreasonablySaucyConcrete
I've spent the last 3 or 4 weeks working on a massive 500+ mod playthrough and after going through all of the typical steps to get the game running smoothly (optimizing textures with Cathedral, checking plugins for problems with Wrye Bash and then fixing them, using FO4Edit to clean most of my mods, combing through the Nexus to make sure I've downloaded every patch that exists for any combination/s of mods I am using) I've ran into the issue of falling through the terrain whenever I interact with any item I can pick up, and also some doors. This also occurs when interacting with anything to do with my Pipboy. The only notable terrain mods I have are the Performout Impetus texture overhaul mod and the 2million sunblock terrain mod that adds undersides to the terrain to prevent sunlight shining through. I've tried to ensure nothing conflicts with either of these and I've tried starting the game without either to see if it'd work, so far nothing. I do have a fast start mod but all it does is let me assign my name and SPECIAL stats right after finishing character customization and then it sends me right to the outside of Vault 111. I have tried disabling the fast start mod and I still fall through the ground, right after picking picking up the baton no less. Curiously it didn't happen when I picked up Nora's ring so it seems to have something to do with physical items, but that doesn't explain why it happens when I use the pipboy that I spawn with thanks to the fast start mod. I'm new to posting here so I apologize for anything strange or any missing details, if anyone wants to know anything about my mod list or wants me to post my plugin list too then let me know. I've tried a bunch of things to fix this myself but nothing has worked so I'm forced to turn to asking others for help.
kkkenny1577
I had a similar problem late in the game and out of the blue of falling through the floors at several locations used by Thuggysmurf's excellent quest mods. He came up with two optimization tweak mods that I eventually found caused everyone to fall through the floors at the revised Hotel New Rexford, Fallons head office in Concord and a massive issue at vault 59 - out in the Glowing Sea.Ended up deleting both fixes and no more issues although never did figure out what caused the issues to start after months of no problems. You have used FO4edit and Wrye Bash so you are obviously happy with load order. I assume you checked for conflicts with FO4edit - all I can think of is LOOT to see if it sees an issue - don't use the sort option!!!You didn't note what F4SE plugins you are using and would recommend High FPS fix, Buffout4 (although there is no crash so it won't help) Baka scrapheap and address library if not in your load.Good luck - half the 'fun' is searching the internet for answers.... UnreasonablySaucyConcrete
I see, I'll try disabling any fix mods I have for any of Thuggysmurf's quest mods then. I do have High FPS fix, Buffout 4, Address Library, Baka Scrapheap, and a couple others. This is probably the most hung up I've been on a modded playthrough in a while, I've searched high and low for answers on the internet but all I can find is people talking about disabling wet effects because it causes them to randomly start falling through the floor when they load a save, and I of course tried that to no avail. If disabling the fixes for the quest mods works then that'd be great because I've never tried Thuggysmurf's quest mods, and everyone says they're really good so I don't want to have to uninstall them. kkkenny1577
I wish you luck. Trying to find an answer seems to take forever mostly in getting the question right so you get a response that may help.
