[SSE] Witch-King of Angmar Helmet with non-hooded face

Hello, Everyone,

I don't know much about 3D-modelling and about Skyrim modding (even less), so I don't know whether it is even possible to do, but, being a huge fan of LoTR, I really like this mod for LE, Return of the Witch King. It's great and all, but I always wanted version of this helmet without "hood", so that face would be visible.

So, in case if it is possible, me, and, I'm sure, many others will be really happy to see it happen (not to mention if someone will come up with the full set including armor, weapons etc). SE version, of course.

Thank you.

I had done some work on the 'Nazgul Armor' SE port

This is actually a Witch King version from 'Shadow of War' game, not the LotR movies.

I never published the mod cause author put very restrictive permissions on the LE version, and I never got a response from them...

Now, this one, getting it to be an open-face helmet is rather trivial, takes about 15 min - but would need to get permission from the LE mod owner...

Incredible work, scorrp10! Like both versions very much.

Do you think it would be possible to remove the hood completely? I suppose it will be more problematic, because of hairstyles, no?

Also, I remember that many-many years ago I tried to do this myself and went for permission to an original author and recieved it. But seems like I did it from another account as I'm not able to find his response. So yeah, let's wait.

If you are certain you got their permission before, a note about it can be put on the mod page.

Now, about the design - with helmets, this is pretty clear-cut.

You can make it a slot 30 (head) if it closes off the face entirely. In the picture I posted first, that is the version with black face - there is a black-textured head in there. Optional variant being the fade-in/out animated glowing eyes.

Then, you can make it slot 31 (hair) for a typical open-face helm. Most helmets and hoods in Skyrim are of this type.

Finally, you can make it slot 42 (Circlet), so it does not replace hair.

That definitely works with 'brushed back' hairstyles, but anything that has forelocks is going to look weird.

This looks fantastic. exactly what I wanted.

And thanks for the info. I remember I tried to do it with a circlet slot and I had an issue with hair sticking out all over the helmet. At that point I quit, lol. Also, I remember i did something with adjusting model to two heads: of minimum width and maximum width, guess it is needed for proper morphing (watched pretty good tutorial on YouTube, but unfortunately not detailed to a level of a complete dummy).

I'm not sure though that 11-years-old approval without any proofs is still applicable

I will slap together a mod during the week if I have time.... it is a bit busy now. Probably want a crown version sized for a female and elves, also maybe a few variants with/without the hood.

if you think you could get in touch with the original mod owner, ii would be helpful.
