Advanced Modding

I'm fairly new to modding... well not new, but I don't know very much about it. I think the extent of it is being able to create a player owned house. The Beginner's guide on the construction set wiki is good for somebody like me, it doesn't go into much detail about meshing and creating your own textures, which eventually would be something I'd like to get interested in.

Does the CS wiki have this? If so, could someone make me aware. If not, could you link me up to a site with a good beginner's guide to creating meshes and textures and advanced scripting?

Thanks

If you don't already have NifSkope then you should get it.

3D modelling is a big topic, but re-texturing is fairly simple.

It is easiest to start with an existing texture, either from the game

or a mod, and play with it in the Gimp or Photoshop.

Wiki has some Oblivion texture tutorials, but you can also get general photoshop and Gimp tutorials.

Some photoshop tutorials also translate to the Gimp.

Nifskope is then used to check your work before using the texture in game.

Nifskope can also be used to alter some meshes from the game or mods,

by adding or subtracting (if the mesh is composed of more than one piece) parts.

Wiki has some Blender tutorials, as does Growlf (just type the name in the search).

I believe Robert has a Blender tutorial or resource as well.

I just found one called Logams Guide to Modding on the Nexus as well... Search on.

EDIT: here's another - Oblivion Mod Maker Manual = 184 pages on CS
